maekchu (3764) - Hirakata, JAPAN - OCT 24, 2016
Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Malty nose, with light spritzy yeastiness, Citra hops, and some spice. Hazy rich orange/amber color, big fluffy white head, and thick lace. Small pleasant fruitiness, some tangy lemon notes, and mild persistent bitterness, Fairly dry throughout the palate. Medium body, dry. An interesting hybrid, with the saison yeast (it does seem to be more saison than IPA).

ALIBALI (1611) - Kiel, GERMANY - SEP 16, 2016
Meilenweit vom klassischen IPA entfernt, trotzdem lecker. Alle Lieblings Orangefruits spielen selbstverstndlich auch mit. 0,33l Flasche aus einem Supermarkt in Brssel. Unter 2.

paulvanpelt (606) - Reusel, NETHERLANDS - SEP 16, 2016
Mooi mistig oranjegeel bier met kleine witte kraag. Ruikt bloemig, fris hoppig. In de monu komt de citra goed naar voren. Licht zurig op de nasmaak, verder flink bitter. Beetje vlak en waterig, verder goed.

bartlebier (3819) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - SEP 6, 2016
Backlog - 33cl bottles sampled early 2016, BH. Bref: Belgian-inflected, dry and highly carbonated IPA with as much yeast esters (apricot, peach echoing Citra?) as hayish, spring onion and melon hop acids, rather than fresh hop oils. Exotics like starfruit, citrus and mango pierce through the mix. Drinkable, if yeasty, another fine example why e.g. long warm room treatment, sugar additions and high carbonation of Belgian brewing tradition usually clash with the precision hop engineering possible in the international IPA world now.
