Hazy gold beer with a little white head. Palate is minerally crisp and dry. Light creamy malt, semi dry. Orangey hops, a little tangy and a little sharp with a good dose of lemon. Finishes smooth with a mellow bitter linger. Pretty decent - like the hop profile and hope to try Smaragd hops again.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Colin for this guy. Pours mostly clear with a cream, white head. The nose has dry, pale bread, grains, hay. Medium sweet flavor with some Belgian yeast, bubblegum, bitter grain husks, sugary wheat. Light bodied with average to lively carbonation. Sweet finish with dry pale malts, citrus, bitter hay, grains, bubblegum. Meh. OK.

Bottle from Pibar, Lausanne
Cloudy blond color with generous compact head. Beer with a strong hop character, apparently Citra; strong aroma, lightly spicy; the mouthfeel is rather dry, and the flavor is quite spicy, thanks to the yeast.
A good example of Belgian IPA.

Bottle @ Uncle Babes Burger Bar, Ghent. Hazy golden with a bog and lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy - fruity. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. Perhaps Im overrating this a bit, but it was really nice to get a fairly fresh IPA after a few days in Belgium with a nothing but Belgian style beers. Off course thats what you go to Belgium for, but a fresh IPA is always good :-) 190317
