Rating #2619 - 2016.06.21 - Bottle at Buco in St. Albert. Dark brown/amber colour with a tan head. Aroma is soft fruits, ripened berry. raisin, figjam. Taste is light, grainy and sweet fruits. Quite pleasantly spiced and extremely smooth on the finish. Body a little thinner than anticipated. Alright.

330ml bottle at Nicli Pizzeria. Pours a clody golden brown with a tan head. Aroma and taste sweet, Belgian yeasts, some spices and caramel. Taste is quite dry. Well done Dubbel.

Aged. Not sure how long. Date on the label says "best by 5/12/16" so it must be somewhat old (drinking on 7/16/16). Hazy burnt amber hue with a fast fading head. Lovely nose of something like blueberries and currant mixed with a little oak and Belgian Amber malts, a touch of booze, candi sugar and some kind of herbal spice. Delightful and smooth flavor that’s full of Belgian Amber malt depth and booziness but also a bit of currant and oak barrel, and English toffee. Really lovely.

fhoublon (461) - Lachine, Quebec, CANADA - APR 16, 2016
Bouteille de 750ml achetée dans une SAQ. Dégustée le 24 juin 2014 (tulipe). Bière brune. Col beige très épais et persistant. Peu effervescente, bulles moyennes. Odeur de crème, de levure et de fruits aigres. Très douce, très sucrée, peu amère. Saveur sucrée un peu boisée, de cognac et de gazon/herbe. Très bonne, devient meilleure en se réchauffant.

NikkTwist (3307) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 14, 2016
Vintage bottle at Eulogy. Murky orange brown pour with some white foam. Mild toffee flavors with some brown amber fruit notes. Raisins. Prunes. Honeycomb. Has thinned quite a bit with age - think it is from 2011 or 2012 - but still interesting enough.

RobBestwick (951) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 15, 2016
Bottle. Rich fruit and toffee aroma. Pours with a cloudy brown colour and off-white head. Toffee, caramel and christmas pudding like flavours. Very malty. Syrupy texture. Long and sweet finish with some warming alcohol feeling.

SkillsFactory (738) - ITALY - DEC 23, 2015

Copper brown with no real head. Aroma is slightly spiced with some caramel. Fruity and caramel with some nutmeg(?) and candi, not bad, kind of dull

AgentAle (1808) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 18, 2015
Aroma is dark sugar, plums, raison s and yeast. Fairly subtle. Taste is quite smooth with some light spice and dark fruit notes. Finishes quite smoothly but not overly interesting. Appearance is a slightly hazy amber with a thin pearl head that retains poorly.
