, Helsinki (as Vehnäbock Centennial, 6.6 %). Slightly hazy yellowish golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is wheat, citrus, grains with some yeast and spices. Flavour is quite similar. As usual it’s quite hard combining US hops with a wheat beer and getting it properly balanced.
Spicy yeasty nose with some banana notes. Pale beige creamy head. Hazy amber color. Soft mild banana taste with some hints of spices. Slightly sour. Mild hoppiness. FatPhil (16112) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 19, 2010
Draught (Bruuveri, Helsinki)mjs (7413) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 9, 2010
7 Big sweet banana toffee aroma, proper weizenbock
4 turbid orange, large tight head
7 instant very dry bitter kick, but fills out nicely with a classic weizenbock body. spiciness is very clovey.
4 wheaty retronasals. palate smoth, but noticeable carbonation too.
14 Pretty big and bold, without stepping outside and sane bounds. thr bitterness is it’s standout feature, maybe a little too much.
(Draught at the brewpub) Poured orange and cloudy. Head was white and medium sized. Aroma contained hops, fruitiness and resin. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, fruitiness, resin, citricness, sweetness and bitterness. Afertaste was fruity and bitter. jannek (46) - Vantaa, FINLAND - MAY 2, 2010
Quite cloudy orange. Aromas of banana and clove. Taste includes sharp acidity (which is characteristic of style, though quite strong) and notable bitterness (which is not). I miss the typical sweetish rounded body. Decent beer full of flavour, anyway. If you want hops in every beer you might like this.
