Deep clear amber color, steady creamy beige head. Ryeish malty aroma, some yeasty and fruity twist. Light to medium-bodied. Malty with some German hoppyness and touch of caramel (although quite dry). Decent alt, probably ok with food.
Draft at Helsinki Bryggeri.
Head is mostly lasting.
Body is hazy medium amber.
Aroma is moderately malty (nuts, caramel, cookie), lightly yeasty (dough), with a note of toffee.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Nice aroma but a bit sour, light, and watery. Not as good as their pils and weizen, but decent enough. Erasmus_ro (3235) - Alabama, USA - AUG 10, 2013
Tap @ SOPP Turku 2013, 13/06/013. Pours a reddish dark brown. Aroma is a lot of malty breadiness, strong rye, strong malt. Taste follows along the same lines with a lot of nuttiness in there as well. Medium and well carbonated. Excellent alt, even if I’m not familiar with the style, but still delicious. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 26, 2013

This was the second sample and not bad either. Altbiers aren’t something that I usually seek out but given the price of big beers in Finland it was a good choice. Continuing the previous trend it is a nice example of a lighter style and very affordable for the area.
Aroma / Appearance - The brown dense body has a gradient like roasted rye bread. Chestnuts, the contents of an old antique shop, and oak shimmer in the air. It actually feels cool like the smell of iced tea on a warm sunny day.
Flavor / Palate - Chewy almonds, caramel, and teases of molasses brighten the palate. Rye bread follows with a mild tartness. The pleasantly bitter finish tingles the throat along with rusty pine cones. This is a flavorful session beer from an unlikely source.
Clear brown body, white head. Aroma has sweet grainy bready malt and some medicinal hops. Really nicely balanced one, even if there’s no big elements in this. Clean. rosenbergh (11947) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 6, 2013
Draught at the Bryggeri Helsinki, Helsinki, Finland.
Clear brown colour with a small light tan head.
Sweet brown sugary malty aroma.
The flavour is nicely hopped. There's brown sugary sweetness, grainy maltiness and quite a lot hoppy bitterness. Nice brew. Tasty.
