UPDATED: JUN 29, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Yet another Hockey supporters beer - this time for the "Brynäs Tigers". Believed to be a label beer for Slotskällans Blond. An ok lager with some quite sourish notes. 050803

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. The colour is pale yellow, the liquid somewhat cloudy. The off white two-finger thick foam forms a firm head of medium bubbles while making a fizzing sound.
The smell is soft and balanced with bitter notes and a touch of lime. Maybe it is a bit simple, but very inviting.
The carbonation is quite strong and very refreshing, great for this style.
The taste is first somewhat sweet with notes of honey. The bitterness got notes of lemon and lime, which makes a fine balance with the malt. The aftertaste if mild, but it got a good character with a soft touch of diacetyl and citric notes.
I found this beer very quaffable and refreshing, I appreciate the lack of bread-like sweetness, typical for most Swedish lagers. Great for pizza dinners, too.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden, with a rather quickly disappearing head. Aroma is yeasty. Has a good and rich taste, reminds me of darker beers. Some cocoa in the flavor. Has a nice taste and is still easy to drink.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden beer with a quite ok head. Aroma is yeasty and a little brady. This lager tastes like some of the darker beers. It has cocoa in the flavor and also a good balance with both some bitterness and some sweetness. Leaves nice traces on the glass. A very pleasant surprise... (And, yes I am a Brynäs icehockey-fan, but the beer actually was good...)
