Pours dark brown/black with a medium creamy tan head...nice retention and lacing. Aroma has nice mild roastiness and just a touch of peat. Flavor is nice and peaty/roasty with the faintest hint of bitter espresso. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a roasty/peaty finish. Very enjoyable! kramer (6905) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 15, 2010
On tap, at brewery. Pours a clear dark brown body with a nitro’d light brown head that left some light lacing. Wow, aggressive coffee and roasted barley nose. Very dry with some burnt notes. Pretty darn awesome, especially considering the brewery. Maybe a touch watery, but still a good bit of coffee and dry roasted malt up front. A decent amount of malt bitterness on the back end. Mouthfeel is thinnish with light nitro carbonation. Not bad, among their better offerings even with it’s shortcomings. afireinside96 (923) - Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 2, 2008
draught. I concur with the previous statement of "probably the worst Bube’s I’ve had." first when they were tapping it the bartender told me that they had carbonated it too much and it took like 5 minutes to fill the glass with anything but foam. when it was finally done I tasted it and all I could taste were chemicals. no roastedness, no bitterness, no coffee, just some taste that is reminiscent of glue. not that good. dark appearance, but is thin and watery, tastes like watered down cold coffee, probably bubes worst that i’ve had.
