tap at the brewpub - Pours dark reddish-amber with a thin head and a strong raspberry aroma. The flavor is fairly light and led by sweet raspberry with some caramel maltiness alongside in a slightly too thin body. The finish has some mild alcohol flavor. Not bad. Dark amber with slight reddish hue. Strong raspberry aroma. Light body with hints of dark malt underneath a predominantly fruit-syrupy flavour. There is a slight malt chewiness in the finish that salvages things somewhat, but I’m not into it. 3fourths (9356) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 5, 2005
Bright but dark red color and clear in the appearance. Rich and sweet raspberry nose, but still like a fruit juice or kool-aid than a well formed pure fruit scent. Too sweet and artificial tasting, simple overall, with a twangy spoiled vegetable note in the aftertaste. lilannie (384) - Adamstown, Maryland, USA - AUG 5, 2005
Aroma: sweet rasberries, wheat, very light

Appearance: dark reddish-brown, small white head
Flavor: rasberries, some wheat/grains, light chemicals, bubblegum
Palate: aftertaste of sugary fruit juice and grains
Draught (2005) Really enjoyed this. Toned down berry in flavor and aroma with hoppy undertones. Nice copper with a slight purple/redish tinge.

A nice little maroon color with a fruity taste. Not all that I imagined. A little watery, but it is refreshing and I’m not saying its bad at all. It’s good, especially for 7% BeerPrince (1701) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 29, 2005
Nice covering up of the alcohol although I still found this beer to be a little to sweet and sugary, needed some sourness for balance. Pretty good and refreshing. CapFlu (5129) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 16, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2006 (Draught) 2003 Silver Medallist @ CDN Brewing Awards. Thin, white head with a mohogany body. Slight jammy nose but good alcohol tone to cover the aroma. Flavour is sweet, tart with a decent ABV. I see no reason to mark this beer less than GOOD! JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - JUL 11, 2004
On a small pub crawl while onshore for a few hrs from my cruise ship, I hit up Swan’s. As a general statement for all of their beers that i tried, the good news is that they were served at the right temperature. The bad news is that none of them was too good, IMHO.
The aroma of this ale was like raspberry soda. The taste was a bit too sweet. Malakin (470) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 27, 2004
Dark amber with a fair bit of reddish. Malty raspberry flavour with some hoppyness in there. Raspberry flavour isn’t overly strong and fits in there nicely with the other flavours. Was torn between giving it a 13 and a 14.
