Bomber. Pours hazy dark brown with a thin and fading head that leaves a trace of lace. Nice chocolate/molasses/oatmeal aroma. Medium body, somewhat creamy with minimal carbonation. Sweet taste of molasses and coffee, with a barely piney edge. Dry finish. DuffMan (10602) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 28, 2008
Deep dark brown, short-lived brown head, no lace. Pruney, liqueury aroma, dark chocolate. Bitter chocolate and coffee, with a fruit-acid tartness in the finish. Moderate bitter finish. Smooth medium-bodied mouthfeel. Nice. fiulijn (21022) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 3, 2008

Almost black color. It has the aroma of the coffee brewed in the office. And the flavor too. Just a bit sweeter, less dry, maybe more fruity. Very common.
Deep dark brown with a thin cream colored head. Aroma is chocolate, cream, roasty with dried fruit. Taste is also chocolate, cream with dried fruit and oatmeal. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 30, 2007
Bottle shared with tupalev. My bottle. Deep ruby-brown with a small off-white head. Roasty aroma with notes of toasted oatmeal, cocoa, and a bit of sourness. Medium bodied. Flavour is roasty, pleasant, but not as complex or full as I like from my stouts. Best before date was the week we drank it, so maybe it was a bit past it’s prime?

Bottle shared wit and courtesy of GregClow. Nice dry oatmeal aroma. Very dark brown, small white head. Decent oatmeal taste, some hops present as well. Not bad, not great, drinkable. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 26, 2007
Bomber thanks to CapFlu. Poured deep brown with an explosive cap of creamy tan head. The aroma picked up lots of dusty dark and milk chocolates with just the faintest grassy hoppage and dark fruits in the background. The flavor had well-roasted, almost burnt chocolates, coffee grounds, and some milky sour notes at the core with dry-roasted coffee bitterness and a bit of detergent at the back. The carbonation was excessive, and filled the mouth rapidly.. got in the way of the flavor progression.. sourness perhaps wasn’t supposed to be there that much, but it didn’t get in the way. Drinkable, but not very good. beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 20, 2007
Pours a dark brown color with a ring of beige lace. Aroma of butter, chocolate and roasted malt, the butter is quite disturbing. Flavor of butter, roasted malt and chocolate with a mild bitter finish. The butter, while being present in the flavor. has a less disturbing effect than in the aroma. jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - OCT 16, 2007
on hand pump-pours a tan head and black color with ruby red highlights. Aroma is dark malt-molasses, dark fruit. Taste is dark malt-sweet molasses/oatmeal, roasty, dark fruit, slight sharpness. Mild carbonation. Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 13, 2007
When I tried this at a local beer festival years ago it was one of the best offerings. It was creamy and smooth. Rich but not full-bodied if that makes sense. However, I have not tried it in years and will re-rate after visiting the brewpub in Victoria.
