Taster on tap at Ohio Brew Week 2014. Labeled simply "Honey Ginger".. This is the closest thing I could find to that. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good bits and lace. Nice ginger in the nose, nice floral honey aroma. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light slick finish. Moderate tart taste, moderate sweet, light spiciness. Seeing some of the nutmeg. Decent ginger flavored beer.

Sample at Buckeye Beer Engine. This beer is a slightly murky orange color with a medium foamy white head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt and ginger. Medium body with flavors of sweet malt, bitter spices and fruit. The finish is sweet honey and malt up front and leaves a slightly astringent spice aftertaste. Decent overall.

These once a year releases to celebrate Cleveland Beer Week have not been that bad. This is pretty run of the mill for Buckeye Brewing. It has probably fallen way off by now but was holding up well when I sampled it a few weeks ago. It will be interesting to see what 2013 brings.

Aroma / Appearance - The warm orange glowing body is accented by a thick pillowy white head. Nutmeg, ginger, honey, and roasted almonds smell like a Christmas festival thrown during a summer farmer’s market.

Flavor / Palate - The full bodied mouthfeel is creamy and carbonated like a craft ginger ale. Nutmeg and marshmellows balance on the back of the throat. Squash fresh from the vine pushes it over the edge to a warming finish. This might pair well with a Thanksgiving dinner if the holiday had not already passed.

Mild aroma with a hint of honey. Pours a clear golden with just a dusting of head. There’s a slight sweet malt start, which blends nicely with a ginger bite, and a touch of honey in the finish. Light on the palate, with a lingering finish. Not a bad beer, even if it isn’t my usual style.

Bottle shared by a friend. Clear gold/amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma of ginger, honey and malt. Strong ginger flavor with malt and honey before a semi-dry finish.
