22 oz. bottle via trade with Brigadier - Pours a clear deep mahogany color with a 3/4 finger thick light tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is sweet toasted malt, spice, and esters. Flavor is sweet malt and esters. Medium body. Doesn’t have that big yeast presence I’ve come to expect with most Belgian ales. A nice beer. Thanks Nathan. Fairly thin head. Nice dark copper color. Aroma is pretty concentrated chestnuts and nutmeg. Flavor is lightly sweet with a pretty dark roasted malt aspect for the style. A few hints of DMS on the finish, otherwise, pretty nice. Lowe1983 (1621) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - JAN 16, 2009
Pours a copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is of caramel and roasted malts, with some dark fruits, nutmeg, clove, and candied sugar. Flavor wasn’t really as strong as I was hoping but there’s enough there. Malty flavor of the caramel and roasted malts dominate. Hints of spice and candied sugar on the finish. Decent for an ohio brewed dubbel. StFun (567) - Indiana, USA - JAN 13, 2009
UPDATED: AUG 10, 2010 Pretty solid Dubbel. Picked this up in Cleveland. Pours the wonderful dark amber of Dubbels, with a pencil thin white head, and minimal lacing. Aroma is slightly lacking, with the candy and sugar you would expect lingering, but faint. Flavor makes up for this, with a nice mix of candied fruit and sugar, with a helping of yeast and a nice malt profile. Solid backbone as well. Nice combo if dark fruits and spice; raisins, figs, ginger, cinnamon. Touch of roasted nuts. Slightly boozey at only 7%, but a nice offering nonetheless. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 31, 2008
22oz bottle. thanks to my perfect 10 partner, brad...pours a clear transparent raisin brown with a thin film of white head that quickly diminishes.... aroma led off with nuttiness at first then some caramel malts and dark fruit...maintains a sweet candied sugar consistency in the flavor and dark fruits in the background. finish has a little spicy bitterness. lively carbonation not too bad for a style that im not too particularly fond of.

22 oz. Reddish transparent beer twith beige head. Smells of fruit and alcohol, tastes the same. fiver29 (1036) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - DEC 7, 2008
On tap pours clear amber with a thin white head. Has a light yeasty brandy like aroma. Has a light body with not a lot of carbonation. Taste is alcohol, candi sugar, sweetness, and dark fruits. Has a dry finish. Overall a nice brew. frylock (1135) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - AUG 8, 2008
Dark mahogany color beneath an off-white head. Lots of dark fruits and brown sugar in the aroma. More brown sugar flavors accompanied by prunes and light cardboard flavor. Finishes with a peppery spice. Thanks rudy mabel (9245) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 6, 2008
[1357-20080517] Bottle. Sweet Belgian yeast aroma has some heavy malt notes. Clear, dark ruby brown body with a long-lasting creamy light tan head. Sweet yeast flavour has more boozy earthy malt notes. Medium-full body. Nice, but it’s got a kick so you’d better watch out.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2008 Thanks to RagallachMC for the bomber. Clear burgundy color with a medium head. Aroma of heavy yeast, toffee, dark, sweet fruit (figs and raisins) and a little bit of chocolate. No bananas, which I prefer.
Medium-heavy body, mostly sweet taste.
