Buckeye lake ipa poured a light amber with big head of small white bubbles. Nose was pine needles. Taste was a heavy hit of pine backed by a slight hint of sweet malt. A surprisingly good beer. shigadeyo (3730) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 28, 2014
10/28/2014: The IPA looks much like the Pale Ale, but that?s where the similarities end. Muted dried citrus and some resin in the aroma. The flavor has an off-putting butterscotch maltiness and a sourish almost catty amount of citrus hops. Ample bitterness, but it just doesn?t taste good. It?s like they tried too hard. I really dont like rhis IPA. Draught at the Buckeye Lake Brewery. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 26, 2013
On tap during Ohio Brew Week 2013, taster from W.G. Grinder’s. Clear golden - amber color. Thin slightly off-white head, leaves good row of lace. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation, more dry finish. Nice light grassy, light piney hop character. Good moderate bitter taste, some light caramel malt, lightly spicy malt. Good, balanced, complex IPA. LilBeerDoctor (3904) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 23, 2013
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep orange with a thin white head. Aroma of crystal malt, caramel malt, citrus, bitter hops. Flavor of pale malts, light citrus, light fruits, jam, and lots of bitter, grassy hops in the finish. Decent IPA, fairly malt heavy, with lots of bittering hops and a touch of light fruits.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a clear copper-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, pine and sweet malt. Light to medium body with flavors of resiny hops, biscuit malt and a bit of fruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

growler from the brewery, pours a dark reddish color with a small off white head. Aroma is citrus hops, lots of grapefruit and a good malt backbone with alot of caramel notes, smells nice. Taste is a nice balance between the sweet caramel malt and the bitter grapefruit. Palate was a bit too flat, needed more carbonation. good brew better than what i was expecting dmac (6206) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - JAN 7, 2013
Growler thanks to jcwatts. Poured a deep clear dark brown amber body with a small foamy off white head. Aroma of light dirty citrus, fruity, toast crusts. Great body, medium mouthfeel, slightly creamy overall, average carbonation, slight bitterness on the finish. Flavor starts off with notes of lemon skins, toast, earthy citrus rind, older orange slices. Needs some warmth but solid when it gets there. jsquire (4424) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - OCT 6, 2012
Sampled at the ’12 Columbus Microbrew Festival. Amber color with a thin off white head. Big, fresh grapefruit citrus hop nose. Strong grapefruit and pineapple hop flavors over a strong enough bready malt backbone. Long cittus hop finish. Really nice IPA. JaBier (7871) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JUL 30, 2012
Sample at the brewery. Clear amber to copper pour with a thin off-white head. Centennial all the way in the nose with lots of orange, along with some pine and grapefruit. Malty and orangy flavor with some pine before a bitter grapefruit rind finish. Very impressive and my favorite of their catalog so far.
