Bottle. Pours dark copper with a thick off-white head that slowly dissipates to an eight of an inch. Aromas of brown sugar, toffee, and herbal hops. Flavors are caramel malt, herbal hops, a bit of grassiness and bready notes. Low carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. Very similar to a traditional English bitter. Not exceptional. wxman (1840) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - JUL 8, 2015

Picked up a growler at The Daily Growler in Columbus. This is the first Buckeye Lake beer I have tried and would definitely get it again. Nice malty aroma. Poured a thin white head. Lightly toasted caramel taste with a smooth finish. jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - FEB 12, 2013

Sampled at the ’12 Columbus Microbrew Festival. Amber color with a thin off white head. Sweet malty nose. Malty sweetness with some caramel and raw grain, chalk and apple fruitiness. Easy drinking beer for an uninteresting style. JaBier (8156) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JUL 30, 2012
Sample at the brewery. Pours a clear reddish copper with a medium beige head. Malty and lightly caramelly flavor with some light hops. Malty and caramelly flavor with slight hop. Right on for the style, but I found the nose and flavor to be faint. Got a little stronger as it warmed up, but seemed less "there" than the rest of their brews, even the blonde. steelhead3686 (270) - Jacksonville, North Carolina, USA - JUL 1, 2012
Tasted this during Brew Week in Athens Ohio 2012. Pours a light, clear, brown with a thin white head. Smells of alcohol almost to the point of scotch. Light sweet taste and a faint bitterness. Light body with a thin texture that has a clean and slight stinging finish. Noting special from this beer, I wouldn’t look for it in a bar.
