Bottle: Pours a nice amber color with a nice white head on it. Aroma is very subtle, but has notes of citrus, and maybe just a hint of pine. Taste has a nice soft citrus and pine feel to it, with just a touch of caramel. There is also a slight bite at the end of each sip which makes this beer very enjoyable. a dark orangish color w/ a large fluffy off white head and ok lacing some haziness to the pour. Nice well hopped aroma pine and grapefruit and a hint of grahm crackers & carmel. Well carbonated lightly oily well coated palate w/ a smooth finish. Flavor is definatelly a piney bitter a very dry resony finish w/ a fair amount of malt in there. Well done but overdone on the pine notes to me. bender (293) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - SEP 10, 2003

Copper body with a white head. No lacing.
Floral hop aroma with a slight butterscotch aroma.
Spicey hops dominate flavor. Some malt/butterscotch.. Alcohol.
Full-bodied with a chalky mouthfeel. Prickly carbonation.
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2004 Looks nice in the glass, aroma is hoppy citrus. Flavor is slightly out of balance on the hops side, some citrus tones come through. Overall a decent APA.

Slightly citrusy malt and hop aroma. A bit like a more civilized IPA...
Nice amber colour with a small head. Pretty much IPA light in flavour, too. StewardofGondor (1934) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 25, 2005
Clear and bright gold in color with no head. Aroma is sweet honey, grapefruit and apricots, along with hints at a dew on a spring morning’s grass. Grapefruit and papaya lead the flavor pattern in a very smooth and easy going manner. I’d like a bolder hop presence, but it is an APA and the requisite ration of hops to malts seem to be in order. Tiny bit chewy with the shortest of hop stops. Carbonation is lacking. Finishes like an iced down summer cooler. Nevertheless, it’s still a decent beer. I don’t often find much enjoyment in pale ales but this was an exception. Clear copper with a creamy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, caramel, biscuits. Medium body and smooth feel. Nice blend of sweetness and bitterness in the flavor. A very good beer, especially for a pale ale. Terminus (3689) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 29, 2006
22oz bomber. thanks to vyvvy for picking this up on his trip out east. clear orange with a small off-white soapy head. nose is lighty piney with some diacytl unfortunately. flavors are grapefrupt, resinous hops, and diacytl. the diacytl isnt huge in this beer but just enough to bring down the overall enjoyment here. body is somewhat fizzy and over-cabonated. finish shows the diacytl and piney hops. i would like a diacytl less sample next time
