11/08/2010: Buckeye Witless... Aroma: Faint orange peel and corriander; floral. Appearance: Hazy pale yellow color with a thin white veil on top. Flavor: Wheat malts, thin orange and corriander; yeasty finish with a small bit to it. Palate: Light body; feels thin. Overall: Typical American-style Wit; nothing special and definitely nothing unique about this beer.
1 pint 6 fluid ounces shared by Tmoney99. Thanks Tom! Rating #23 for this beer.
22oz bottle. Label makes it sound like this is limited - I wonder how fresh it is? Minimal to virtually none white head. Bubbles on the side of the glass. Mildly hazy yellow color. Lighter, crisp carbonation. Decently dry texture. Not a great aroma. Barely any orange-peel aroma, but the coriander spice sticks out a bit too much. Mild spiced taste. Doesn’t taste fresh, would probably be much better if it was.. jmikolich (1477) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - NOV 15, 2011
22oz bottle from chucks and the nose is lots of coriander now that some of the fruit has fallen away, still plenty bubbly and light but the coriander is all up in my business like the mavs beating the cHeat. This is a solid flavorful wit but needs more body to be really good zdk (1917) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 1, 2011
shared by Max and Jess’s - odd aroma grass and grain. Caramel malts. light bodied and spicey wheat notes and citrus, lemon rinds. Tasty. murphym45 (769) - New York, New York, USA - APR 6, 2011
Strong lemon citrus aroma, wheat. Light bodied and easy drinking, a bit of clove, more citrus and orange peel on the palate. A very solid wit. phaleslu (10551) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 5, 2011
22 oz. bottle from Root Cellar. Pours a cloudy, bright orange-gold color with a huge, rocky eggshell white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma of orange citrus, coriander, banana, wheat, and sweet, bready malts. Flavor is pretty much exactly what the nose indicated- sweet, spicy, and wheaty. Light-medium bodied, with a spicy, wheaty mouthfeel and abundant soft carbonation. Decent Belgian wit, and of course I’m going to support any beer that says, "Fuck you, LeBron James" from Cleveland. j12601 (13027) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 24, 2011
Bottle at Max and Jess’s place. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet wheat and crackery grain. Toast and crackers. Sweet and grainy, but somewhat empty, still drinkable though. Grainy and crisp. blipp (9590) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 19, 2011
Bottle shared at Max’s tasting. Pours gold with a thin white head. Wheaty aroma with some light lemony notes. The flavor has a wheaty base with light lemony and spicy notes. Decent. jtclockwork (17070) - , New Jersey, USA - MAR 19, 2011
