3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Quite decent offering in a macro-brewed light beer. Picked up a twelve on a hunch when I was in the mood for some light-weight sipping brew, and was not disappointed. This would really be quite excellent in the heat of the summer, and would be an excellent change of pace for holiday gatherings as well. Nice introduction to wheat beer, which can tend to be a little overwhelming to a novice. Hat’s off to Budweiser for daring to offer a very tasty alternative to the mainstream light beer market. This is really quite an innovative move on their part.
Bring it back! Since you quit selling it (in our area), I had to switch to Shock Top Orange GreatDane1632 (1174) - North Dakota, USA - MAY 15, 2015
I still desire the Bud wheat beer better!! Sure miss it.
This beer was very meh. It was almost something, but then it really just wasn’t. edgallow (4568) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 14, 2015
12 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma and taste is citrus, grains, yeast and some spice. slowrunner77 (13004) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 5, 2014
"this was 1.25 happy hour special whilst waiting for my wings, so...what the hell. the paintball commercial is just great! anyway...aroma was still skunky. the coriander & citrus tried to come out, but the skunk overpowered them. too bad. appearance a little transparent, but there was actually yeast on the bottom. cool. mouthfeel still sucked. fizzy and thin. gave me gas almost immediately. flavor a slight pleasant surprise. some ornage and spice. not really any wheat. still too light and boring but not revolting. it actually was almost average, which says a ton for BL. not something I’ll get again, but BLs best product to date." The beer pours a very hazy light orange color, which lends it some degree of authenticity as a wheat beer. I don’t think it’s a gorgeous looking beer by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s definitely not a weak offering. On the nose I detect almost nothing except for some wheat. Unlike the eye test, where this beer more or less passes, the nose offers almost no indication that this beer will have any authenticity to it. There’s wheat, but how hard is it to get some wheat into a generic lager? You’d like there to be some notable citrus or spice aromas, at least a sign that the yeast strain wasn’t the blandest thing possible. But BLGW offers almost nothing worth writing down, smell-wise. The taste is more of the same, with a somewhat sweet wheat taste up front that goes down very cleanly on the back end. No horrible off flavors, but nothing particularly spectacular either. The mouthfeel is also unremarkable and exactly mimics traditional Bud Light, watery and blah. Drinkability, I’d imagine, would be pretty high. Low alcohol content, somewhat sweet to make you want to drink more, not enough bitterness or off flavors to dissuade you from continuing. I hate to give InBev credit, but you have to give it where it’s due, and they’ve made a solidly drinkable light lager with more flavor than the competition. What that’s worth is a product of your personal calculus.

From my blog, 2010.
Yes, I’m mowing through some BMC stuff. More notes were found and this is how this one will go. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 15, 2014
I poured this into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy golden amber to orange color with a quickly dissipating one finger head. I heard it fizz as it settled. There was no lacing.
The smell had some caramel malts along with a breadiness coming about.
The taste took those aromas and made it taste heavy on the mouth and tongue. There is a super long wheaty finish and it didn’t have any aftertaste.
On the palate, it sat about at a medium on the body with a quality that wants you to think its sessionable, but actually there seems to be a bit too much wheat in there.
Overall, actually, one of the better Budweiser products to me, though probably not one to seek out, but would rather have this one over some other products on the market.
You can smell the coriander and citrus peel on the aroma, a little on the palate but not much there in terms of flavor. subsonic (85) - Pataskala, Ohio, USA - DEC 27, 2013
"great for byob parties or any other event where large quantities of people want to drink your beer. pours with no aroma or color. DedicatedToFun (4003) - Santa Monica, California, USA - OCT 6, 2013

bottle. Golden with small head. Water beer with a little bit of orange thrown in. Very forgettable.
