237ml (8oz) can as a gift by WheatKing at Q Club in SoHo, Central. Thanks Adam!

Translucent pale straw lime juice colour; Razor-thin head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 5 seconds; Minimal lacing with zero carbonation; Artificial aroma of tequila, lime juice, lemonade, sugar, and rotten perfume; Very strong sweet taste of lemonade and lime juice, with lots of sugar, tequila, strong alcohol, and hint of bitter hops; Light body, thin and boozy palate; Mouth feel is sugar-loaded margarita all the way. Bud Light’s malt is virtually undetectable, just cheap tequila loaded with lemonade and artificial lime juice coated with lots of sugar. The 8% abv is, well, you can feel it but it’s no rocket fuel nor cheapo hard-hitting, just slowly wear on you. Oh my!... Hoppiness is no nose, and bare hint of bitter hops in taste; Bitterness is mostly from the cocktail, not enough to counter the crazy sugar for an overtly sweet-cocktail bitter finish; Wet after taste. Very easy and extremely sweet to mouth.

Comment: Finally, my wish to taste this notorious cocktail-disguised-as-beer has been answered, and as the old saying goes, be careful of what you wish for: this is virtually a margarita, with a thicker body probably thanks to the Bud Light’s beer base. Too bad you can’t taste anything resembles a beer, just cheap light tequila loaded with lots and lots of sugar and annoying rotten perfume. Sweet, boozy and artfifcial, yet I manage to finish the whole can. This is a fine example of mediocrity as a beer, but then again, this is aiming for non-beer populace anyway.

236 ml can, impulse buy from singles bin at the Merritt LRS. Cheap margarita coloring, smell and flavor, no head. No beer detected here, just 17 grams of sugar. WTF, over? NFBE (Not For Beer Enthusiasts)

Gross. Too sweet with nasty bitter fake lime. Worse than a margarita made with mix and no beer taste so what’s the point. If you’re in the market for something like this so with the Dos Equis version.

Can from american store. Appearance is hazy light gold. No head. Body is light. Taste is high sweet. Aroma is citric and alcohol.

8oz can, $1 from the gas station. My first attempt at this series of "beer". Pours a grapefruit juice color, slightly hazed. No real lasting head, but noticeable carbonation. Aromas of lime kool aid, seltzer. Flavor is very sweet and just lightly tart. Low carbonation, thin mouthfeel. No alcohol detected, covered up by all the sugar. Really no excuse for not finishing this, it’s only 8 ounces and I need to finish up my buzz. Finishes with a lime candy flavor and a lasting sweetness. Ehh...

8oz can, purchased from a Tops. I couldn’t resist. I had been drinking Margaritas all weekend long and this didn’t seem much different, especially considering that it was only $1. After 12 minutes in the freezer, I cracked this delectable treat. In a rocks glass, it was milky and looked of fresh sewage, green tint and all. Aroma lacked alcohol, surprising at 8% and stank of fake lime flavor. This wasn’t nearly revolting, except for the diabetes causing level of sugar that made this taste sweeter than 15 bags of skittles eaten all at once, if that were possible. Toxic sugar alcohol sludge.

8 oz. can for $1, found at Kroger. Tried along side the other 4 varieties. This one was my favorite of the bunch. It pours a margarita color with a small white head that lasts as a wispy film and ring. It smells and tastes like a margarita, too, with lime juice, agave, and some sweetener. There’s some tartness in there. Light-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a dry, tart, sweet mouthfeel. Slightly artificial, but overall it’s exactly what it promises to be.

Can from the grocery store. Pours a hazy light gold. Aroma of limes and watered down agave. Taste exactly what I expected: a bud light margarita.

8oz can. Lime and booze is what we have here. Reminds me of a vodka and lime, which I like, but not of beer, which it is supposed to be. Maybe a little grain is the aftertaste. Drinkable alcohol delivery system, cheap and dirty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
