The best thing about this beer is the shiny blue bottle. The taste isn’t much different than any of the other big light beers but if you want the higher alcohol content without good taste you might as well go with a cheap ice beer. GlassBrass440 (321) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 25, 2012
Bud Light Platinum pours crystal clear and golden yellow. Slightly darker than regular Bud Light from what I remember. The snow white head dissipates quickly. Slightly sour pilsener malt aroma. Flavor of sweet malt. A touch of honey, perhaps, but mostly just clean pilsener malt. Not as much adjunct flavor as regular bud light. The body borders on watery, but doesn’t quite cross that line. Highly carbonated and very drinkable. Overall, it’s good for a BMC beer and I can appreciate it for what it is. This could be my weeknight drinker if it were a little lower in alcohol. But I guess that would defeat the point. deyholla (12588) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 24, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear pale straw yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly and nearly completely to the edges. Aroma has lots of sweet grain with a good amount of hay and a bit of stale sweet bread. Flavor has sweet grains with stale bread a hint of alcohol and hay. mlunger12 (645) - Orlando, Florida, USA - FEB 23, 2012
I still don’t know why I wasted $2 on this... but for the love of the tick... Tastes like over carbonated, corn sweeted water. Pretty darn bad. I guess it would do the trick if you were trying to get toasted quicker than regular Bud Light would allow. woodsboy (18) - Fairbanks, Alaska, USA - FEB 22, 2012
Its a mystery why the big beer makers continue to churn out this crap, one would think that with the craft/ microbrew explosion they might want to go more in that direction than backward towards the far end of what is only technically beer. Pours very pale yellow, only a little white head, goes away quick. Has little if any aroma but I can tell its something alcoholic. Palate is bad, in that it has no real taste like beer. I would say that corn is what I taste, corn and sugar, but only a little. AH describes the taste as "top shelf" which suggests that they dont know what beer is suppose to taste like. Puzzling, dont waste your time.

Grainy and Light Taste. Funky aroma with hints of sweetness in the flavor - nothing special - better than regular bud light though..... blipp (9903) - La Mesa, California, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Bottle. Pours light clear gold with a white head. Light grainy nothingness aroma. The flavor is grainy and light, with a hint of sweetness. Not offensive. fluffy (2461) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - FEB 18, 2012
its great that we live in a country where sometimes the more you spend on marketing, the worse your product is. anyone that spends as much as AB does for this bottled donkey urine knows it has to to overcompensate for its laughably inept lack of quality. Clacic swill of field crop aromas. Yellow body with white head. Favor of corm malt and mild bitter. Smother that bud light on palate. Alright brew for lawnmower beer. scottw86 (1179) - Maryland, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Very excited to try this one. Regular light was a bit of a let down, but perhaps this platinum one will be the beer bud light should have been! Poured a very pale yellow color with a thin white head that faded quickly. Aroma of rotten eggs and rice. Not off to a good start. Taste has some light sweetness with corn and some grains. Some rice. Overall I like the sweetness, but this is not much better than other pale lagers. Aftertaste is a little sweet with some corn. You were the chosen one, Bud Light Platinum! You were supposed to bring balance to Bud Light, not destroy it!
