Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks David Cohen. Hazy amber. Aroma of malt, toast, some flowers, citric hint. Sweetish flavor, malty, toasty, with a caramelly note, and a bitter finish with floral and herbal notes. Medium-bodied.

A gift from Kera. Red, mildly cloudy, nice yellow foam. Sour metal and fruit in the aroma. Malt, dry, grain, with metallic grainy aftertaste that grows. High in carbon.

On tap at Speakeasy. Amber colour. Medium white head. Slight hints of berries. Some herbal notes, slight sourness. Hints of malts, slightly herbal at the beginning. Slightly sweet, bit watery in the middle. Quite watery finish too. No particular aftertaste. Rather light bodied, medium carbonated beer. It is drinkable but there is lack of character.

Bottle. Unexpectedly fruity, with lots of red fruit, fresh plum juice and a slightly toasted malt base and hops that are floral and grassy in the aroma, evolving into slightly earthy in the flavour and kicking back in a floral way in the finish. Creamy carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Malty enough without getting caramelly. Fruity and hoppy. May be not ’true to style’ but why should I care? Excellent stuff!

Dark amber beer with nice head. Like all the Buddelship beers this one has a lot of aroma. Malts with caramel dominate but there are also distinct fruity notes of grapefruit and orange. In the mouth the beer feels quite heavy and full bodied. A mix of bitter and aroma hops provide bitterness as well as flavours to go with a blend of malts. Very tasty!

(bottle, 33cl) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Caramel-malty, slightly nutty aroma with hoppy notes of nettles, hay, herbs and slightly citrus. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Slightly dark malt character with present notes of caramel, accompanied by herbal-spicy, slightly resiny and subtle fruity hops, drying the beer towards the balanced malty finish with spicy hops and caramel in the aftertaste. Good. 09.XII.15
