Bottle. Thanks herrkelmann! Clear-to-hazy dark gold. Slightly metallic, a little toasty, some oxidation in the nose. Bitter, metallic, alcoholic, some cardboard in the mouth. Medium body, long, metallic finish.

Bottle sample at Beers 2017, smallish creamy head, clear quite deep yellow color, nutty biscuity aroma with a hint of vanila and cardboard, sweet malty candy flavor, light bitterness. Quite heavy and not good.

330 mL bottle shared with ebone1988. Picked this baby up at the Spar attached to Graz Hauptbahnhof. Oh boy. The pourbisba darker golden orange with a great clarity and a thinnring of off white head and a decent lace. The aroma is very grainy, syrupy, and sweet. There is a hint of the hop, that is more of a syrup, but it’s not what I would expect for an imperial pils. the flavor is a little more grainy and alcohol forward. The sharpness doesn’t really work with the light hops and the maltiness. It’s interesting. The mouth feel is lighter and clean with a bright ish carbonation and a lingeringly sweet syrup and grain. Interesting. 5 3 5 4 12

Bottle shared with koleminer20, for the book. Bottle from Spar Grocery in Graz, Austria. Aroma is floral, booze, sweet, corn, slight booze, honey maybe, not great. Appearance is darker golden, off white head, clear. Taste is caramel, honey, earthy hops, corn, floral. Mouthfeel is medium body, light crisp carbonation, floral caramel aftertaste. Overall, it’s not awful, especially for this style, but still not especially pleasant.

Moretum (173) - Vienna, AUSTRIA, AUSTRIA - JUN 7, 2017

Intense caramel, sweet grain and cereal malts, molasses, honey. Clear gold, small, creamy, white head. More caramel, molasses, grain and cereal malts, medium carbonation, medium bodied. Actually boot a bad Imperial Pilsner, sweet and one-dimensional, satisfying. Bottle from Aldi, Thun.
