COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abbey beer, ruby colour, top-fermentation beer, outstanding owing to its soft flavour and fantastic aroma. This beer’s name comes from the French Capuchins, who had a monastery in Budel at the beginning of the last century.

Brown with a creamy head, that did not last long, but left some lacing. Aroma is full of toffee and liquorice. Soft, medium body, a bit oily. Rather sweet flavour, but not excessively so.

On draft at the PINT beerfestival. A lot better than Batavier. Malty beer with caramel present and some fruitiness, and I bit sweet for my taste, but quite nice overall.

Very doughy, toffee, caramel aroma with underlying black cherry fruitiness. Opaque deep brown with a shy cover of off-white head that recedes immediately to ring. Sweet black cherries, brown sugar and caramel. Medium-light body is somewhat watery with low carbonation. Tulip, just above fridge temp. Bottle (trade, Jun-2005). Thanks, radiomgb!

Pours with a nice cascading action resulting in a creamy head. Very sweet aroma, milk chocolate, cherries, toffee. Flavour isn’t nearly as complex or interesting as the nose. Sweet finish. Cheers!

Bottle. Deep amber in colour. Aroma was earthy, some wood, malty - mainly dough - and some ginger. Flavour had notes of ginger and mint, earth, and caramel malt. Slightly sweet, medium body and carbonation. Finish is medium lenger, mild bitterness.

Bright reddish-brown colour. Aroma of black cherry, raisin, toffee. Simplistic sweet character. Sweetish, fruity, slightly toffeeish finish.

I just want to cry. A box with SIX Belgian beers, and they ALL sucked. What a waste of money, time, calories and tastebuds. This was unexceptional in all respects, just terrible.
