Brown amber hue light beige head.. aroma of sweet malts light honey palate.. Medium chewiness not too watery light hoppy bitters.. MillStreetMan (152) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 30, 2005
I just want to cry. A box with SIX Belgian beers, and they ALL sucked. What a waste of money, time, calories and tastebuds. This was unexceptional in all respects, just terrible. Boutip (6483) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 18, 2005
Bottle: Poured a light dark beer with an average head with very little retention. Aroma is a bit weak with some malt being noticeable. Taste is different then some previous Alt I tried before and includes some roastiness and some bitterness at the ends. There is an overall watery feeling that leave a disappointing taste in my mouth which is deceiving since this one had promises as opposed to other Budels products. Orange amber ale with a thick off-white head, collapsing quickly. Sweet malt and whiff of fruity wet dog. Roasted malts, caramel, with sustained nuttyness, and like Greg said, sweetness in the middle of tasting. Oily mouthfeel. This is supposed to be Belgian style??? MrManning (2009) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 11, 2005
Pours a dark brown coloured body, with a thin off white head to accompany. Aroma is faintly woody, malty, and toffee. taste is a tad watery, sweet, malty, and slightly woody. Finish is watery, no alcohol or any aftertaste to really talk about. Not bad!

Light ruby-brown colour with no head. Clear, still body with a thin mothfeel. Caramel and wood aroma. Strange flavour profile - there’s basically no flavour off the top, a sudden blast of sweet malts in the middle, and some yeasty bitterness in the finish. One of the better beers in the Budels giftpack, but that’s not saying much... Crockett (1120) - Southampton, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 3, 2005
Pours deep amber and syruppy with a tight off white head. Caramel, earthy, light herbal hop aroma. Caramel, dried fruit, raisin, prunes. Doesn’t start off as Belgian as it finishes. Sweet woody malts and light fresh yeast. Appley alcohol. Spicier as it warms up. White pepper and cardomom? Drinkable but not very distinctive. An amber beer with a beutiful light brown lasting head. The aroma is yeasty combined with notes of wood as well as some spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of berries, wood, caramel, and prunes - the flavor is somewhat overripe. The body is surpriseingly thin for a 6.5% ABV beer. beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 12, 2004
Finally, the very last bottle from the crappy Budels giftpack from hell ! Pours a clear ruby color with a thin, mostly diminishing white head. Sweet and fruity aroma. The flavor is unpleasant at the beginning but you get used to it, then I can taste, caramel, nuts, yeast and bitterness. Medium body, oily texture. I think it is the best I’ve tasted from Budels but still it’s not great. DougShoemaker (3146) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 5, 2004
Treacle and caramel aroma, cllear ruby, small toffee head. Tastes of almonds, medium bodied, bitter/sweet. Fair.
