COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abbey beer, ruby colour, top-fermentation beer, outstanding owing to its soft flavour and fantastic aroma. This beer’s name comes from the French Capuchins, who had a monastery in Budel at the beginning of the last century.

Lekker nederland abdij bier. Zoete dubbel met een mooie dikke schuimkraag. Jammer dat het zo slecht verkrijgbaar is.

Marrón rojiza, espuma poco abundante. Aroma a caramelo y almendra. Sabor agradable a malta tostada, dulce caramelo, algo de vainilla y cereza. Cuerpo ligero, le falta fuerza.

Dark brown beer with a white head, low carbonation. Taste is very sweet, (dark) fruit, raisin and caramel. Too sweet aftertaste.

bartlebier (4214) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - SEP 28, 2014
30cl bottle bb07/2014, aged NL sampler from Bier&Co. Pours like tawny port, smells like strawberry liqueur and tawny port, tastes like liquorice-spiked strawberry and plum liqueur with cheap old Rumtopf-soaked strawberries and a surprising, harsh and spicy, kitchen cabinet hop bitterness (nutmeg, bayleaf). Subcomplex for an abbey beer, although the minimal/puristic approach is laudable (no adjuncts used). Slightly sticky finish, soggy mouthfeel (probably not entirely due to aging).

0,3l fles mee gedronken met ralf. Donkerbruin met een bescheiden schuimkraag. Smaak en geur zoet met rozijnen, aardbeien in de afdronk een beetje bitter van het gist. Body is matig.
