12 oz. bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop. Deep red color with a quickly disappearing head. Malty with a fruity hop aroma. Candy-like but still pleasant. Taste is thin with vegetal hops and lots of sugary malt notes. Thin body. Dogbrick (14316) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 4, 2009
Sample at Montgomery Inn in Dublin. The beer is a mostly clear amber-brown color with a medium light beige head that recedes quickly. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Mildly sweet toasted malt aroma. Light body with sweet caramel malt flavor and faint hops. The finish is sweet and malty and does not linger long. About what I expected overall. On tap inside Sea World, San Diego. Hey, it was free. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. There is really not much I can add that 400+ other people havent already said... slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 14, 2014
"i bought this while waiting for the store manager to check if he was going to be getting Old Guardian this year. It was a single on the 20% off rack, so what the hell. I was expecting a 2, what I got, while nothing great, will go down as my highest rated Bud product, and right up there with the best AB has ever produced. it actually looks nice on the pour...amber with a generous head. the aroma is enticing, but is so weak you really have to work for it. the mouthfeel would be better served with slightly lower carbonation, but isn’t bad. the flavor is pretty decent on the tongue...more malt than hops, but then NO finish whatsoever. Almost respectable, which was a pleasant surprise for a buck." Sammy (12995) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 18, 2009
Bomber, where is good till date? Pours amber with foaming head, that does leave some lacing. Mildly barleywine aroma. Some bitterness, and barley, barleywine-red cross style. Drinkable. About average mouthfeel, creamy by the foam. Above-average carbonation. Not bad for Bud. thewolf (12940) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2010

Pours clear amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, lots of caramel. Highish carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour has caramel, sweetness, light metallic. Some citric and metallic bitterness. Not impressive.
12oz bottle-pours a thin tan head with large bubbles and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel, secondary citrus/perfumy hops. Taste is medium malt-caramel, dry and bitter citrus/perfumy ops, some cherry. Rougher than the original American Ale by Cricket Hill. Also a bit over carbonated. Thanks decaturstevo for picking this out.
