With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

I don’t know if surprised is the right word, but this wasn’t the worst beer in the world. If I had the option, I would drink this long before Bud Light or other similar beers. This actually tastes like something.

My friend made me try to guess this beer and I had a hard time. I knew it wasn’t an amber ale but it wasn’t a pale lager. Well, it was drinkable but not really anything great.

February 16, 2013 - bottle from AV3. Clear orangish pour with limited head that faded quickly and spotty lacing. Malty and yeast in the aroma and taste. Surprisingly better than expected.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 Bottle - thanks Folty. Clear orange pour with minimal white head. Yeast and lager malt aroma. Simple and uninspired. Better than Bud heavy though.

Bottle. Pours amber with thin white head. Bit of a corn aroma. Similar to Bud, maybe a little bit more body and a slight hop end. Nothing special but not bad. Not sure what the purpose of this was, do we need Bud with higher alcohol content?

Blech on top of blech. This is a clone of budwiser, just sweeter and stronger. Glad I didn’t pay for it. Don’t waste your money.

I actually get a hint of malt in this. Not enough to make me want to drink another but a hint none the less. Could be worse.

Its got more body to it than their platinum. Me i’m a lager fan and I turned 21 in Saint Louis so Bud has a spot in my heart. I’ll be paying $3 a bottle at the bar for this stuff for sure.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2013 12 oz bottle. The lage poured a clear light amber color with an average frothy white head. There was some modest lacing. The aroma had a sweet malt aroma. The lager had soft carbonation and a medium body. The finish was sweet. The beer was a disappointment. I was hopeful for a bigger beer. It is drinkable.

12 oz bottle. Pours a weak amber color with almost no head. Light caramel flavor. Tastes like a weak Fat Tire. Not terrible.
