COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

From the bomber into a pilsener, it pours a clear red with a one inch white foamy fizzy head that lasts for about a good two minutes before dieing fairly quickly. Rapid carbonation is seen rising. The smell is sweet among corn/rice adjuncts, malts, and sugar. The taste is the same. The palate is probably the best thing about this thing as it lives up to its label "distinctively smooth." It is light and coats the mouth and tongue smoothly. It leaves a bland, slightly metallic yet acceptable aftertaste and a sweet watery finish. Overall, actually not bad for AB, I’d probably have this over a fair amount of other BMC products, but as an American Amber/Red Lager, I’d say it doesn’t compare to better ones of its style.

this beer is one of the best tasting beers I have ever had. I was always a Budweiser drinker, but have since switched to this tasteful beer. It is hard to find at our local bars and liquor stores but I can find it at a couple towns within 80 miles so I stock up.

I hate to admit, but in may just enjoy this bud a little more than I should. Has a little alcoholic kick. Refined and refreshing. A step in the right direction and a nice setup toward trying bolder amber brews.

The only beer in the arsanal of Bud beers that is truly worth buying, trying & enjoying. I am 71 and enjoy a good amber removing it from the line is stupid and insulting.

JPDIPSO (6262) - Wauwatosa, USA - JAN 29, 2017
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2017 As Batch 91406; Copper to bronze in color. Moderate sized, cream colored head. Decent lace. Lightly toasted raisin bread scent. Some grains and hints of alcohol. Spicy lager comes to mind with the first quaff. Woody and grainy. Drink these cold and you should likely be mildly unoffended. 11/12 As Budweiser Black Crown: Ar - 4 Ap - 2 Fl - 5 P - 4 O - 9 Rate 2.4 Modest white head that diminished to a single layer of bubbles above the dark golden to light amber liquid. Grains and hints of alcohol in the scent. Light caramel flavors. A nice feel, with some real body and a tight, tiny bubbled zip. Clean, but boring. 2/13

Pours a crystal clear golden brown from the bottle with bubbly white head that dissipates to leave light lace. Aroma and taste of mild sweet maltiness and mild adjunct, clean lager crispness. Budweiser with some extra malt and color.

altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - AUG 19, 2016
Bottle on Miami Beach. Nice amber body with slight head. Nose is malty, grainy some caramel. Taste is similar with caramel, malts, a tad sweet. Dry in the finish.

Cajun (539) - Lafayette, Louisiana, USA - JUL 20, 2016
Bottle - Pours amber, white head. Pretty much a Budweiser with more alcohol. I can’t tell that the flavor is much better, nor that there’s more alcohol for that matter.

oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 12, 2016
Pours a nice golden amber color. Aromas of malts, hops, and a touch of pine. Flavor has a nice crisp taste with a clean dry finish.
