Poured into pint glass. Only a faint covering as head. A nice clear, golden color though. It smells like grain (barley) and a slight metallic note. Smooth taste of malt without the sweetness, mild bitterness middle to end. Medium and crisp body, bubbly but not too much. Great tasting, poor appearance though.

Butelka. Klasycznie. Słodowo, zbozowo z nutką tytoniową. Lekki skunks, lekki karton. Dość treściwe.

On tap in Prague, Czech Republic. Classic pilsner, classic saaz aroma, the origins of the style. Like it

Colour is very light yellow. Strong smell of malt and corn, a bit of a sweet smell. Taste has a bit of cereal in there, corn again. Pretty good for a lager.

Tap at the Red Lion, Woodbridge. Poured a deep gold with a large frothy white head. Aromatic, floral and hoppy. Moderate sweetness and mid bitterness. Light to medium body, texture a little watery, average to soft carbonation.

Złociste, klarowne z obfitą pianą. W aromacie chmiel, trawa. W smaku metaliczne, słodowe. Takie średnie.

Can from Billa, drunk at home. Honey in colour with a frothy head that lasted a few minutes, little lacing. Complex bitterness from the first sip, some honey, citrus, and bread. Predominantly dry and crisp at the back of the palate after an initially creamy mouth feel. Medium carbonation which combined with the well-balanced hops keeps it refreshing. Overall, although not a massive pilsner fan, I have to admit that this is rather good.

BBD: 12/4/17

2015 BJCP Category: 3B Czech Premium Pale Lager

AROMA: Lightly sweet, caramel-like malty presence. Slight honey-lemon scent from oxidation. Faint spicy/floral hops. 8/12

APPEARANCE: Golden hue (5-7 SRM); crystal clarity and effervescent. Moderate white foam mostly dissipates but does lace fairly well. 3/3

FLAVOR: Lightly sweet bready taste with a caramel undertone. Hops lurk in the background throughout with a spicy/peppery flavor and light dry bitterness. Noticeable honey/lemon flavor in the finish. Slight metallic presence, though it is tolerable. Palette is rather mild overall, but enjoyable. 14/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; medium-high carbonation. Highly quaffable, somewhat refreshing. Feels a tad light for 5% ABV, though tempting to session. 3/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: This is probably a World Class example when fresh, but still a fine example when old. 6/10

TOTAL SCORE: 34/50

Vona skoro ziadna. Farba krasna zlatista. Chut jemne horkasta s prijemnym zakoncenim.
