COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.

Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

I bought this bottle during a promotion in Denner in Prilly-Malley. I drank for the Birthday of my wife. In my opinion, it is an average Dunkel beer not extraordinary but not bad. The color is a dark brown body, thin brown foam. The carbonation is a bit lower than a lager. The taste is light, malty, a bit roasted, hop and if I compare with the Bavarian sisters, this one has a dry finish, easy to drink even during the summer, pleasant and simple.

Wygląd - przejrzyście ciemne, piana utrzymująca się, grube pęcherzyki. Aromat paloność, karmel, ogólnie słodko, kawa i niestety chyba dicacetyl, mokra szmata. Odczucie w ustach - słodkość ma wysokim poziomie, fajna kawa, słody palone lecz też wyraźna szmatka cały czas się przebija. Gorączką niska, w stylu, wysycenie dość wysokie.

Aroma of diacetyl, carmel, coffee. Taste coffee, pleasurable carmel and some herbs in the background. I don’t taste any bitterness. Pleasurable beer, but nothing special. Pl: Aromat diacetylu, karmelu i kawy. W smaku podobnie - całkiem przyjemny karmel, kawa, trochę nut ziołowych w tle. Goryczka niewyczuwalna. Całkiem przyjemne piwo.

Sampled from bottle at the 2016 Czech Heritage Fest in a footed pilsener glass, an opaque dark brown colour with sudsy tan foam and a little lace. Similar to Praga Dark, but better in every way: malty, bready, toasty, still more residual sweetness than I’d like, but not cloying or syrupy, a hint of earthy/floral hops, and higher carbonation. Medium-full body, bigger mouthfeel than I expected, lingering malty aftertaste. Interesting, very different overall from regular original Budweiser.

Szép tiszta barna szín. Illatában a karamell és a kávé illata fedezhető fel. Testes, nem túl szénsavas. Finoman keserű.

Green bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a smalllasting tan head. Aromas of roastiness, licorice, coffee and cocoa. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roastiness, licorice, coffee, cocoa and light dried fruit with a smooth lingering roasty cocoa finish.

Bottle. Dark Brown (almost Coke-like) in colour. Malty; roasted malts, buttery caramel, liquorice, coffee, chocolate. Hoppy; grassy hops. Roasted butter-malty sweetness offset by Saaz hop bitterness. Dry bitter hop finish. Smooth. Drinkable. (2011-06-29)

bottle BB 30.10.2017 - perhaps a less than 3 months old, which is more than decent. pours clear dark brown, dark red tint, with a very creamy beige head offering good retention and lacing. gently browned caramel malts, small berries, purple pulp, very chalky, grassy and peppery old world hops, clean tmavé flavors. moderate carbonation, light body - never thin; semi-sweet and smooth grassy finish. surprisingly fresh and not linear either.

500 ml bottle from lcbo. Quiet pour with good carbonation and and an aroma of roasted malt and hints of coffee. The colour is dark auburn with a craggy tan head and good lace. The beer has a smooth roasted malt start with coffee notes expanding into the middle. Good length to the finish with notes of bread and a touch of molasses sweetness. A good dark lager!
