COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.

Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

Alpha10 (775) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 14, 2017
2017/03/14 - Pours a dark brown colour with a foamy, khaki head that quickly reduces and leaves minimal, spotty lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, molasses and bready notes. Taste is much of the same; bready, toasted malt, coffee, residual sugar and earthy hops. Mouthfeel is medium to full with smooth carbonation and a lightly bitter, toasted malty finish. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This dark lager poured a deep black colour with a beautiful tan head. Unfortunately, green bottles, far off land and fluorescent lighting at the lcbo equal skunk. Minimal lacing. Scents include coffee, molasses and dark toast. First swig was a little thin but had nice roasted flavour. Expected a nice creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I bought this bottle during a promotion in Denner in Prilly-Malley. I drank for the Birthday of my wife. In my opinion, it is an average Dunkel beer not extraordinary but not bad. The color is a dark brown body, thin brown foam. The carbonation is a bit lower than a lager. The taste is light, malty, a bit roasted, hop and if I compare with the Bavarian sisters, this one has a dry finish, easy to drink even during the summer, pleasant and simple.

fernockibeer (147) - Wroclaw, POLAND - FEB 10, 2017
Wygląd - przejrzyście ciemne, piana utrzymująca się, grube pęcherzyki. Aromat paloność, karmel, ogólnie słodko, kawa i niestety chyba dicacetyl, mokra szmata. Odczucie w ustach - słodkość ma wysokim poziomie, fajna kawa, słody palone lecz też wyraźna szmatka cały czas się przebija. Gorączką niska, w stylu, wysycenie dość wysokie.

Aroma of diacetyl, carmel, coffee. Taste coffee, pleasurable carmel and some herbs in the background. I don’t taste any bitterness. Pleasurable beer, but nothing special. Pl: Aromat diacetylu, karmelu i kawy. W smaku podobnie - całkiem przyjemny karmel, kawa, trochę nut ziołowych w tle. Goryczka niewyczuwalna. Całkiem przyjemne piwo.

Sampled from bottle at the 2016 Czech Heritage Fest in a footed pilsener glass, an opaque dark brown colour with sudsy tan foam and a little lace. Similar to Praga Dark, but better in every way: malty, bready, toasty, still more residual sweetness than I’d like, but not cloying or syrupy, a hint of earthy/floral hops, and higher carbonation. Medium-full body, bigger mouthfeel than I expected, lingering malty aftertaste. Interesting, very different overall from regular original Budweiser.
