COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.

Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

bottle from Herkku Stockmann, Helsinki!
Pours deep brown and ruby red with a small head. Smells malty roasty with lots of caramel and chocolate. Starts bitter malty roasty, with lots of coffee and burnt malts. Middle part is also malty bitter and roasty, paired with some dark chocolate. Goes into a chocolatey finish with some burnt malts and roasted coffee.

This beer is black with a good tan head. The smell is of dark chocolate and brown loaves. The smatch is full of sweetness with a hint of hops afterwards. The body is light, but slick in the mouth. The finish is long and is where the hint of bitterness comes out. This is my first Dunkel/Dark Lager and I have to say that it is a lot better than I thought it would be.

Bottle from Tesco. Dark brown beer with small head. Aroma of roasted malt. Taste is of roasted coffee and chocolate notes. The palate is a little disapointing rather watery. An OK beer will try other dunkels to compare.
