COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.

Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

TET (3209) - Kaarina, FINLAND - DEC 30, 2016
A colablack beer, a head is quite big and beige. Aroma has sweetness of syrup, also balancing roastiness. Taste has maltyness, some roastiness, luckily only decent sweetness. Almost medium bodied, quite smooth. Quite balanced and not too sweet beer.

Canmoore (496) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 29, 2016
Pours a dark ruby red, nearly opache with a bubbly beige head. Aroma has notes of grains, toffee, and coffee. Tasting notes include lively malts, burnt grains, coffee, and sightly astringent finish. Not bad.

From notes. Enjoyed at Brot & Spiele at dinner with Gary. 500 mL bottle. The pour is a darker brown color with a hefty bit of ruby shining through. There is a thin light tan head that fades quickly, leaving a few spots of lace. The aroma is full of roasty malts right up front. This is nothing like I was expecting. There is a light licorice and a very bready presence. Surprising. The flavor is much of the same. It’s roasty and crisp with a nice bready character to it. There is a hint of licorice, but this all just fades off so quickly. The mouth feel is really watery and light with a decent carbonation and a lingeringly sweet and roasty finish. I like it. A lot more than I thought I would.

Strangebrewer (1344) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 27, 2016
bottle. Poured dark, reddish-brown with a creamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Medium body, pricky carbonation, a bit oily. Typical roasty malt flavour, notes of coffee, smoke, dark fruit, treacle. Slight astringent finish.

Pours a nice 2 finger thick frothy tan head and has a fairly dark amber appearance with ruby highlights. Lively carbonation. Aromas of roasted malts, hints of coffee and very faint resin hints. Flavours are mostly the same as aromas, lots roasted malt notes, some sweet malts, notes of raisins of other similar dry fruits. Fairly smooth and slick sensation on the palate. Big bubbly mouthfeel, somewhat fizzy as well. Very good.

Olorin (59) - Graz, AUSTRIA - DEC 17, 2016
500 ml bottle. Dark reddish brown colour, small head mostly lasting, little lacing, soft carbonation. Nose is roasted malt, coffee, some liquorice. Flavour is less sweet than expected, nicely balanced bitterness, a bit watery. Leaves a smokey aroma in the aftertaste. An OK beer, nothing special.

cattaneopapa (419) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 11, 2016
500ml bottle from LCBO. Pours an opaque deep brown colour with one finger of lasting head. Lacing clinging to the side of the glass. Aromas of roasted malts and bread. Taste matches the aroma with espresso finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

buczykij (163) - Limanowa, POLAND - DEC 2, 2016
Piwo ciemno brunatne z rubinowymi refleksami, klarowne. Piana ładna, obfita, jasno beżowa, drobna i dosyć trwała, ładnie oblepia szkło. Aromat ciemnych słodów, słodkawy, niezbyt intensywny. W smaku słodkawe, jest niska goryczka, subtelne nuty karmelu i palonych słodów. Średnio nasycone i nieźle pijalne.

3.2
Metalchopz (3535) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 29, 2016
Pours a dark brown colour with copper and ruby highlights. Nice creamy beige head, long lasting with some creamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with lots of molasses coming out. Hints of nuts, coffee and chocolate. The taste is milder with some dark grain notes, but overall watered-down with very light dark fruits. Some coffee tart. Overall refreshing dark brew.

3.8
Panzerfaust (870) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - NOV 28, 2016
Bottle from Beersquare, Santiago. Pours a murky dark brown with a medium gray head that leaves a good lacing. Aroma is malty, toasty with a huge rye bread profile. Notes of rye, toasted bread, roasted grains, tar, even a bit of charcoal, burnt grass and burnt wood. Taste tends to a sweet but roasty side, perfect balance, elegant woody and earthy hints under a prevailing rye bread and whole grain bread flavor. Delicious. Medium body. High carbonation. A complex dark lager indeed. Probably the best Dunkel I’ve tried.
