The beer is brewed by Daniel Westmoreland from the Williamsburg, Va. brewery and was developed in collaboration with brewmasters Mike Anderson in Jacksonville, Fla. and Dan Kahn in Cartersville, Ga. “We took staves from fresh bourbon barrels and we aged the beer on those staves and spiced it with a hint of vanilla,” said Westmoreland, who has been a Budweiser brewmaster for more than 30 years. “It’s an all-malt brew, and it has a perfect color that is similar to the color of bourbon itself. Batch No. 23185 has a nice vanilla aroma with a little oakiness on the end – it’s a great beer.”

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2013 Aroma is slightly nutty malts, a hint of spice and stock ADL all around. The flavor is mildly nutty/hint of caramel malts, slight heat and a mildly tart fruit finish.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2013 Pours gold with a slightly off white head. The nose is slight vanilla. The palate is slight malty sweetness with a hint of vanilla and whisky. It is a highly attenuated Winter Bourbon Cask Ale with lager crispness.

Pours clear amber with a tall, off-white/yellowish head. Scent is malt, slightly woody. Taste is mildly vanilla, just a hint of barrel... Malty, sweet. Very mild and light, slight hoppy bitter. A fairly decent little beer.

Pours a deep golden color with a good sized meringue heads that shows great retention and leaves a fair amount of lace. Smells of vanilla up front on top of very faint wood and a sweet grainy honey maltiness. Extremely light spicy hop aroma. The flavor is malty sweet with a rich almost caramel flavor atop some grain and honey. The vanilla and oak are quite subtle in the flavor but you can catch fleeting glimpses here and there. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a creamy bubbly mouthfeel. Not a bad beer, in fact this might be my favorite mega brewery beer yet. I’d still buy something else before I picked this up again.

Again. Nice beer. Don't be prejudice against the AB. Wintertime light amber. Nice. V ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a golden color, a little light for an amber, albeit a light amber. Subtle hints of vanilla and oakiness add to the flavor but still somewhat bland.

Its dark gold, clear, little head, and it ain’t no where as good as Winter Bourbon Cask Ale! What a waste of time this one is. Anheuser-Bush once had my all time favorite winter beer. They no longer make it and instead decided to take the bourbon cask and vanilla idea and dump Budweiser in it. Come on this is not as thick or nearly as vanilla flavored and is actually not very good. Instead of waisting time on this Anheuser-Bush should consider bringing back Winter Bourbon Cask Ale.

12oz bottle 11/13/12 12pk (Dominicks)-44° in Lager Glass-Pours a medium golden with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of malt and vanilla. Taste of vanilla, oak, malt, and slight bourbon. This medium bodied brew is by far the best of the three but I wish they would of made it a bit stronger.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2013 Amber pour with a 3 finger, frothy off white head. Aroma of vanilla, corny cereal and a light metallic note. Some vanilla in the flavor, corn cereal, sweet corn light vegetal notes. Light body with a creamy entry, slick finish and moderate carbonation. Better than I expected, but still not very good.

Heavy sweet vanilla aroma a little too synthetic. Nice amber color....very clean in the glass. Very light body, sweet malt flavors, with oak and vanilla notes that intensify with finish. Finishes with mild bitter end. Left desiring a little more complexity but not bad.
