Pours a very clear copper with fair khaki head retention. Nose and flavor really remind me of a watered down dopplebock upon first glance. However, the initial perception of plum quickly gives way to vanilla.. Lots of clean vanilla. Very much like the sweet vanilla notes from bourbon, but without the alcohol bite for balance. It comes off as just a bit to sweet. Still, pretty tasty. nealblind (1864) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Lovely orangey hue. Strong malt flavor. Tastes like a scotch style beer. Leaves a sugary residue on the tongue. Vanilla on the finish. Not much else going on. Needs more hops. bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - MAR 20, 2013
Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Vanilla and malt aroma with light sweetness. Malt and vanilla flavor with light bourbon. Medium bodied. Malt and grain linger with vanilla. BlackHaddock (7329) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 18, 2013
Drank in my room while staying at ’The Sheraton on Fishermans Wharf’ San Franscico on 5 Feb 2013.
Poured into a platic beaker a couple of times: still looked OK. I chilled the 12 ounce bottle in the sink with loads of ice, leaving it there while we went out and cracked in on our return.
Amber body with an off-white crown.
I found the beer a bit too sweet: and I like sweeter beers normally. This however was to smooth and almost sickly, the vanilla hints helping to make the brew feel that way.
Great if you’ve a sweet tooth and like vanilla flavours, otherwise steer clear of this beer. Fatehunter (2567) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Two fingers of foamy head on a clear, medium straw colored body.
The aroma is nice, if faint: grain, fruit and vanilla.
The taste starts with a mild bitter lager and grain; the middle to end is dominated by the vanilla. It’s a bit sweet on the finish and the vanilla does not really fit.
The texture is smooth with moderate carbonation.
If you like vanilla, this is for you.

Bottle from Wegmans. Pours clear copper with a medium sized off white head, tons of carbonation, decent lacing. A good looking beer. The aroma has some light woody vanilla notes and not much else. No bourbon aroma whatsoever. The taste does have faint bourbon barrel qualities, some vanilla, light coconut, but primarily pale lager. It’s okay.. but it’s from Bud and that is a huge improvement. Bottle from Wegman’s Collegeville. Pours deep caramel with minimal off-white head and a lot of carbonation. Nose is Yuenglingy. Tastes like liquid Wheaties, with mild hops. This is a Yuengling light clone. rumproasts (5359) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 12, 2013
bottle. Light amber with small head. Lightly sweet with the slightest bit of vanilla. Expected a bit more distinctive flavor. reggiedunlop (3724) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 5, 2013
Pours a golden/lt amber color with a thin white head. Aroma has straw and mild vanilla. Flavor has mild vanilla and bourbon...a bit of fruit. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is dry and slightly oaky. Not that bad really. bluejacket74 (1992) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - MAR 1, 2013
12 ounce bottle, born on date of October 2, 2012 (Julian Date 12276 stamped on label). A buddy bought me some of the Project 12 beers since they were on sale (got the 12 pack for just $5.75), so why not tick a free beer? Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear orange/amber color with about an inch off-white head that sticked around for a while. There’s a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like sweet and bready malt, along with a little bit of vanilla. I don’t pick up much if any bourbon at all. Taste is mostly like the aroma, although the vanilla flavor is a little stronger in comparison. Still don’t pick up any bourbon flavors, other than the vanilla. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a little bit coating, and has a good amount of carbonation. Overall, I’d say this is an average beer. Not great, but not bad either. I won’t have any problem finishing the rest of the bottles I have, it’s worth a try.
