The beer was first brewed in St. Louis by brewmaster Jim Bicklein and was developed in collaboration with brewmaster Katie Rippel from Fort Collins, Colo. The original Budweiser brewery is, of course, here in St. Louis, so we wanted to honor our brewing heritage with a beer that uses ingredients that German immigrants, like our founder Adolphus Busch, would have used when they came to the United States, Bicklein said. In this pilsner we use the same types of Hallertau and Tettnang hops commonly used in St. Louis during the late 1800s.

Footed pilsner. Clear pale yellow with almost no head or carbonation. Very light notes of hay. Taste is not that good and I didnt care for the mouth feel.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2012 The aroma is slightly grainy with a grassy type hop. The appearance is golden with a medium head that fades to nothing. The taste is like the aroma with some minerals and a bitter herbal finish. The palate is thin. Overall it fits its style but doesnt seem to taste very good or have any special qualities. Thanks to Palidor for the rating anyway!

Golden malts with very little bitterness. Still it has a bit of a kick. Their is a bit of adjuncts but not enough to make it not drinkable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle from Tmoney99. Pours a clear golden color with a small diminishing white head. The aroma is sweet, corn and grainy malts, mildly doughy, with light herbal notes from the hops. The flavor is sweet corn and grainy, light fruity notes, lightly herbal, very mild bitterness at the finish with some grassy notes. Nothing terrible here, but there is not much to look forard to in the flavor department either.

Bottle from Walmart. Sweet nose with a bit of graininess. A little hint of malt as well. Fairly clean and refreshing up front. A little sweetness come in followed by some grain and maltiness. Mild and crisp hop finish. Decent little brew.

Lightly sweet, but mostly dry pilslager malt aroma - doughy. Stock US twist-off longneck, bright, deep gold, thin filmy head. Some mineral flavors, a bit tangy, mild hopping, modestly sweet. A somewhat chewy mouthfeel, frothy and effervescent without being too spritzy. That said, the finish is a bit tonic/soda water in nature and biscuity. It occurs to me that this would be an excellent brew for making seafood beer batter - not overpowering, a bit fizzy, neutral yeasting. Part of the Brewmasters Project 12 special mixpack.

Golden pour with a fizzy white head. Skunky, macro aroma. Bitter, corn flavor from start to finish. Average carbonation with a semi-creamy texture. Normally this would be ok and refreshing, but not for the price you have to shell out for this 12 pack!

bottle thanks to the one and only bman1113vr interesting lesson of history on that side of the bottle but that surely does not make up for this beers lackluster performance. i was wanting to try some batch 12 stuff anyways so thank you to bman1113vr, my best friend for hooking this up

Bottle. Sweet corn syrupy malt aroma. Clear gold with a large white head. Sweet corn syrup malt flavor with a slight hay finish. Body on the lighter side of medium, moderate carbonation. Could be a heck of a lot worse.
