Such a large beer, the spices are very much in your face. Deep black and very powerful stuff, I could only do half a bottle arnold931 (1264) - Iowa, USA - OCT 16, 2015
Bottle. Pours black with some tan head. Nose and taste is cinnamon and some roast. Good. ethanTHEtrill (59) - - MAY 4, 2015
Bottle from Specs in Katy, TX. Poured into a teku. Appearance is black with a 1/4 in head that doesn’t go away. Aroma of earth, chocolate and malt. Taste is dominated by Chai at first then goes into a sweet lactose note then finishes with a solid malty note with lingering cloves and earthy note. Awesome base porter almost a stout. bytemesis (9207) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - APR 21, 2015
Bottle. Pours clear reddis black, medium creamy brown head, dissipates fairly slowly, good lacing. Aroma is cinnamon, clove, allspice, nutmeg, roasted malts. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, lots of spices -- too many -- lots of clove as well. Medium light body, some acidity. rougeau13 (3188) - Richmond, Texas, USA - MAR 21, 2015
Black with an everalasting tan head. Aroma of chai spices and roast. Taste is roasty and well but not overly spiced and slightly bitter. Medium-fullish bodied and creamy smooth and slightly dry. Nice.

Deep brown pour with a tan head that dissipates rather swiftly. Aroma is typical porter with some herbal and spicy notes along with. Super herbal and dry taste. Pretty nice dfinney23 (3424) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 21, 2012
A bit too much of a potpourri aroma for me but the taste is better, with some chocolate and roasted malt powering through. Not really my thing but I’m glad to see this new brewery trying new things right out of the gate. Tabednar (139) - - MAY 1, 2012
I personally thought this was a fantastic beer. It was presented to me as a stout but almost feels like a porter with a smokey backing the seeps through. Wonderful use of chai on the nose and at the beginning as it coats your palate. Well done! SudsMcDuff (8494) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - APR 17, 2012

Draft and the Hay Merchant. Pours dark, dark brown with a small dark tan head. Smells of chai and chocolate. Taste is extreme chai with hints of chocolate. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Buffalo Bayou Chai Porter finishes with a lot of spice notes.
