Draft at Shepherd - Pours a true amber, thin ivory head. Aroma is caramel malts, ripened fruits, subdued. Smooth on the tongue with a tickle towards the end. Has a bit of a barleywine quality to it. Big caramel, dark red apples, some booze. Meh. travita (5003) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 27, 2014

I like buffalo bayou beers. They're solid. Not the worlds best or diverse but solid and I'm happy to have them in Houston. Cheers!

Copper pour with a white head. The aroma and flavor have some strong biscuit and caramel malt notes as well as a hint of pine and orange citrus. There is a light amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Very good Strong Ale. Nose is very balanced hop and bready malts with caramel and hints of apricot. Taste follows nose very well. Nice thick mouthfeel lends to the thick bready taste. Awesome beer, recommend it to anyone.

Aroma: The nose has some sweet malts, bread, booze, and some hops
Appearance: It pours a caramel-red color with a beige head
Flavor: The taste is malty, a little sweet, plenty of booze, and a light bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-full, kind of sticky, with a little heat as well
I thought this was a decent one, but it was also kind of muddled. Not bad, but also not a favorite for me.
Hazy amber with an off white head. Nose is fresh hops, light bready malts, chewy, and citrus. Easy palate, crisp fresh hops, chewy malts, no sign of alcohol, smooth finish. soupy (35) - - JAN 12, 2014
A good Strong Ale, heavy on the palate, alcohol more upfront gives it a kick, caramel pour, will drink again.
