Bomber size bottle purchased by blonderehead in Austin...waited until the Christmas holiday to consume. Pours a deep pitch black with a light tan head. Aroma builds as it warms with nutmeg and clove coming to the forefront. There are malty cereal grain qualities. Taste involves all of the spices you would expect from a gingerbread-centric effort. Some definite roasty, almost chocolate characteristic. Lingering clove and ginger. Not overly sweet but it does border on artificial. Expectations were probably a little inflated. It's enjoyable but not one I'll seek out again. Curious to see if this would have been better with another year or two of aging.

Draft at What's on Tap. Dark brown with a small tan head. Big aroma of real gingerbread. Flavor has nice spice to it also with some lingering sweetness. Nicely balanced. Pleasant.

Bottle. Aroma and taste is mainly general gingerbread spices, cinnamon, ginger etc. Really light body, the beer is bit watery, sweetish in taste with spicy finish. Nice.

Bottle shared at Todd’s. Big and dark with so much ginger and not as much gingerbread. Light body.

Bomber to tulip - Looks wonderful, dark mahogany with brown edges. Thin but frothy light tan head...looks inviting. Smells richly of ginger and nutmeg, notes of earth and chocolate. Spice carries over sharply to the tongue. Flavor yields more to chocolate and caramel towards the end with a decent bitterness. Traces of coffee grounds at the finish. Good stuff!

Shared 22 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a tan head that rapidly recedes to a thin film. Taste and aroma are surprisingly enough.....gingerbread. Maybe a bit of roasted malt coming through, but this is all gingerbread. Ginger, nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. It’s as advertised, but the spices are too heavy for my tastes.

Aroma: all gingerbread without any other beer characteristics; Appearance: pitch black with fizzy white head that dissipates quickly; Taste: lots of gingerbread with some underlying malt, verging on overwhelming; Palate: heavy bodied with long, ginger finish with slightly unpleasant taste; Overall: a small glass would be welcome but anything over 3-4 oz is too much; would not buy again.

Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a bit of tan foam. Just a hint of red around the edges if held up to a bright light. Aroma is roasty with a strong spicy smell - gingersnaps. Taste is in-your-face ginger, a bit too much if you as me, with roasted coffee flavors. Good stuff, but tone down the ginger please.
