Bottle at the Brony Bottle Share courtesy of me, thank me very much! Brown, big brown head. Nice spiced gingerbread brownie aroma. Taste is spiced gingerbread. Delicious. yngwie (17075) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 25, 2013
On tap at the Hay Merchant. A black one, topped by a creamy tan head of finger thick size. Some curtains occur. There’s lots of gingerbread aromas in there, along with roasted malts and some booze. Honey cake hints. It’s full bodied and war, almost sticky on the palate. Sweet flavor with lots of gingerbread, overpowering the roasted malts, molasses and coffee. Some roasted kind of bitterness towards the end. There might be too much gingerbread going on here, but it’s sure nice anyway, at least when limited to one glass. 130825 Ferris (15901) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 1, 2014
Draft - Clove, ginger and cinnamon. Jet black with a thin head. Molasses, clove and ginger with a roast finish. Sweet and spicy, but a bit over the top for my tastes. djd07 (15067) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2012
On tap at Texas Beerfest. Pours a dark brown with medium tan head that diminishes rather quickly. The aroma is cinnamon and brown sugar. Sampled from the tap. Pours near black with a dark head that lasted throughout the beer and laces nicely. Aroma is full of ginger and spice with dark grains and a bit of pumpernickel. Flavor starts with dark grains and chocolate and finishes full of ginger and spice. Spice has a touch heavy. hopscotch (11159) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 30, 2014
Bottle... Pours black with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma is every bit as good as that of Hardywood’s Gingerbread Stout – ginger snaps in a big way. Medium-bodied and oily with gentle carbonation. The flavor is dark, singed and bittersweet with a generous measure of gingerbread goodness. Carbonic, burnt, ginger snap finish. I’m impressed. Bottle shipped my way by Rosebud butternuts! onceblind (9858) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 21, 2014
Black pour with a persistent light khaki head. The aroma is deep and absolutely wonderful, like chocolate chip ginger snap cookie dough. The taste, however, has far too much spice--loads of ginger and allspice, though with a nice calm sweetness of chocolate, roast, molasses, and bitter herbal tones. Wish it had less spice.
