Aromas and flavors were strong with vanilla, chocolate, coffee and spice. Cinnamon came through on the finish and near the bottle of the glass. Good mouth feel.

Bottle. Nearly black with a smooth tan head. Aroma of chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, roast, and nondescript dark fruit. Tastes roasty, a little bitter, and lightly spiced. Medium bodied and smooth.

4 oz draft goblet taster at Lone Star Taps & Caps in Lewisville, Texas. The pour is a black brown with a small tan head with nice lace. The aroma is roast malt along with some sweet toffee and some warming alcohol towards the back. The taste is the roast malt, with coffee notes and earth mineral towards the back. There is a nice hint sweet toffee and cinnamon throughout. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and roast in the warming dry alcohol finish. Nice.

Black hue with a thin light tan cap. The aroma pops with a bright yet roasty licorice and chocolatiness with a punch of clove and spicy Belgian esters. Full and robust flavor with earthy bittersweet cocoa, loads of clove, chai tea, cinnamon, and a bit of roast, which compliments this nice yeasty belgianish undertone. Very interesting and flavorful.

Quick pour at the Baked Bean Bar .. . Dark brown black .. Burnt eye rye and twisted dark gimbals .. . Solid mouth, gritty finish .. . . My hat is on my head. Where it BELONGS!

Big cinnamon kick but there’s so much else going on with the vanilla, coffee roastiness and bittersweet malt. A fine sipper for sure!
