Bottle. Pours an orangey (pumpkin-hued) amber with a quickly dissipating off-white head. Aroma is your standard pumpkin pie smell, maybe a bit tilted to the cloves. Taste is about the same (particularly with regard to the clove), though unlike other pumpkin beers it is pretty much the only thing you taste - no beeriness, no weird grain flavors, no sour notes. Palate is a little watery. Definitely one of the better pumpkin beers I’ve had this year (and most years, actually). UofFkid (108) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JAN 7, 2008
Bottle. Pour a hazy dark orang with slight head. Pumpkin aroma is quite overpowering, but spice even overpowers that. The aroma somehow doesn’t transpire to the beer which seems somewhat flat. GreatSatanUSA (107) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 28, 2003
Palatable ale with strong pumpkin and spice flavors to it. I liked it, may not be for everybody. changxao (104) - South Carolina, USA - OCT 31, 2004
Slightly cloudy orange amber color with a decent head. Aroma is pumpkin with spices, and a faint hint of malt. Flavor is mostly pumpkin pie spice with some bitter at the finish. restless7 (104) - Lenexa, Kansas, USA - OCT 27, 2005
I have to disagree that the taste wasn’t overwhelming with pumpkin. I could anticipate the pumpkin from the aroma and it was very strong on my opinion. I did not like this beer because the pumpkin was too strong.

Wanted to love it, but unfortunately, it was just mediocre. Very pumpkin in the nose. Very spicy on the palate with less pumpkin than expected. Slightly watery thinnish mouthfeel. Good, but definitely not great. dand645 (103) - Bayonne, New Jersey, USA - OCT 21, 2009
good amount of real pumpkin flavor in the finish, but im not getting the pumpkin pie experience I like in a pumpkin ale...thin and no spice RCWCPACFP (102) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 27, 2004
Not the best Pumpkin beer I have had but it worked in a pinch. Great cool fall day drinking. Well rounded ale but the spice was down played and the malt/barley took over and that to me in not a good thing with this style beer. I liked Ship Yard much better. T3llLAllDE (100) - USA - AUG 21, 2007
first pumpkin beer of the season and it was a good one.pretty color with a nice spice aroma. very nice sweet and spice with cinnamon and pumpkin that leave with a good after taste. nice beer to start the season runaway (95) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 11, 2007
Pours orange with a short gravelly white head. Aroma is sweet and a bit citrusy. Flavor is of pumpkins and not much else, a little hops come through though. Body is a bit thin and the finish is mild.
