COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Since its inception in 1985, America’s Original Pumpkin Ale has become a Fall tradition. Much of Buffalo Bill’s acclaim originates from this beloved autumn brew. Made with real pumpkin and spices, it has a golden amber color, and the sweet aroma of warm pumpkin pie, 6% ABV.

I noticed this at the store around Christmas time, then picked it up in March when I saw it on clearance. This is definitely a seasonal beer, and in March seems about as appropriate as Nat King Cole singing O Holy Night. While most winter beers are still beers, and really could be enjoyed any time of year, this pumpkin pie-flavored beer is a holiday novelty.

The pumpkin aroma is unmistakable, the flavor falls just short of how good this smells.

It’s spicy, pumpkiny, and watery all at once. It’s a decent beer but there are many better fall beer alternatives than this one.

We did a blind taste test between this beer and other pumpkin ales to determine which one is the best pumpkin ale for the season. The beers were Shipyard Pumpkinhead, Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat, Buffalo Bill’s America’s Original Pumpkin Ale, Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale, and New Belgium Pumpkick. Most delicious beer i've ever had, a normal but very good beer taste with a hint of almost pumpkin pie flavor, simialer to the smell only the smell has a much stronger pumpkin pie smell, Not a very strong Ale flavor at all, and not a very strong beer flavor it tastes like it's 2% alcahol when its realy 5%, further more the smoothest beer ive ever had it runs about 7 bucks for a 6 pack so its a bit expensive but other than that perfect.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2003 Bottle pours a nice amber color with a very small head that quickly disappears. The beer leaves no lacing and carbonation seems low. Obvious pumpkin flavor tastes like a mix between a fruit/weisse beer and an ale. An OK beer for the pumpkin/halloween season.

This beer pours very little head and what’s there dissipates quickly. It is very light and refreshing with some sweetness and obviously pumpkin, but very mild doses of both and an even more subtle hint of cinnamon. It finishes clean. By itself it was underwhelming but I can imagine it would be great paired with spicy food or on a hot day.
