Strykzone (7889) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - NOV 1, 2017
Bomber from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Amber golden and hazy. A moderate off white head leaves some lacing. Aroma is very rich malts with lesser oranges. It kind of is a big IPA by aroma. Flavor is big oranges along with those malts. Almost no hop bitterness. Alcohol is tasted and that is never a plus for me. The original beer was a cream ale and this is probably one too, just amped up. I am having a difficult time loving this. The alcohol is off putting and it doesn't seem to move the "needle of craft" at all.

Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Pours copper with a beige head. Nose is citrus and a lot of orange, Body is near full. Flavor is dominated by the blood orange with a lot of malts. Alcohol well enough hidden. Kind of a perfume finish. Drinks reasonably well.

Nice crisp copper and amber coloured body with a smallish, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of malt, earth, alcohol, light caster sugar, a hint of caramelised sugars and a touch of oranges perhaps near the very end. Medium-bodied; Noticeable malty flavours at first with toffee and earth along with some sweetness and a bit of a deep, metallic and alcohol-laden flavour that shows some pungency and warmth near the end, with only a tiny bit of citrus noticeable. Aftertaste shows a bit more of the oranges, alcohol and earthiness, but this is relatively well hidden and only showing the malt and alcohol overtly, but the harsher flavours stay moderately hidden throughout and it still doesn’t taste like 9,0%, even though it is a bit warm. Overall, a decent enough beer, that shows much less of a fruit beer than an American Strong Ale, but good to try if it’s cheap, like what I got it for! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 17-April-2017 for US$4,99 sampled at home in Washington on 15-August-2017.

Bottle. Pours a bloody orange, indeed. Dark pinkish purple. There isn’t much of a discernible aroma. But the flavors are thick and robust. Rich and thick, any orange fruit is buried underneath thick vanilla bean and alcohol. An acquired taste, I s’pose. (#6703, 7/17/2017)

Hazy light copper color with a sudsy head of white foam. Candied orange peel and juicy blood orange melded seamlessly with a sweet caramel malt bill.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy blood orange aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy blood orange finish with hints of caramel.

Amber in color. Smell is definitely fruit forward with a nearly syrupy sweet orange zest flavor with an oddly bitter finish. Not bad, but not good enough to want again.

tightslice (1536) - Redwood City, California, USA - APR 8, 2017
Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is caramel, corn syrup, earthy fruitiness, mild orange. Taste is dank, muddled fruit with an earthy veggie sweetness. Reminded me of their Pumpkin Beer base (which I did not care for). Very strange (expecting more of big blood orange flavor) and hardly drinkable.

Ratman197 (15874) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 25, 2016
Bomber poured a clear orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of crackers, blood orange and vanilla. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of crackers, blood orange and light vanilla with a smooth lingering blood orange finish.

obguthr (7006) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - OCT 9, 2016
Mild orange nose. Clear copper, medium yellow head, good lace. Creamsicle, honey highlights, orange peel on the back end, but not very bitter. Medium body, easy carbonation, alcohol not insistent. Not bad for a fruit beer.
