On tap at 2013 CB Autumn Festival of Ales. Pours a brune body with an off white head. Malty body with some nutty and caramel tones. Sweet fruity esters, berries, and some distinct honey notes. A nice full bodied brown ale. blipp (9502) - La Mesa, California, USA - JUL 20, 2009
Draft at The Buffalo Tap Room. Pours red brown with an off white head. Light malty aroma with notes of toast and toffee. The flavor brings out more of a roasted side, with notes of nuts and coffee. Medium bitterness in the finish. thehipone (197) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 26, 2004
During the tasting at the tap room I expected this one to be a bit hoppier, seeing how most of the previous examples had been pretty malty sweet. Wel, this one was sweet too. Pours out dark brown with a creamy off-white head. Has an aroma like nuts and chocolate. THe mouthfeel is pretty smooth, it has light carbonation and a medium body. Starts out with a bold, but not sickly sweet malt flavor followed by a finish that is lightly bitter and has hints of lightly toasted malt. Probably the best of the tap room’s malt driven beers. An average, but not bad, brown ale. Sweet malt aroma and flavor. Decent body. Needs a bit of work. frylock (1135) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - AUG 21, 2003
Nothing too impressive here, but not a bad offering. Some sweet malt flavors with a slight hint of chocolate. Pretty average beer.
