>> Clear amber pour with good lacing. Nose is caramel, no off flavors like some of the others on tap. Taste is bitter, not chemically harsh like its brethren, lots of red apple though. Bitter palate with lemon water, tannic red apple. Eh.
poured from tap; brown, aroma is choc and caramel, but light; choc and caramel notes with some coffee bitterness drowland (8676) - Georgia, USA - AUG 13, 2013
Sampled during CBC 2013. Maroon brown pour (see what I did there?) with a small tan head. Light aroma of chocolate, nuttiness, and hint of earthiness. Light chocolate flavor, nutty, malt bitterness. Not bad. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - AUG 23, 2012
Draft. A nice attempt to get a brown ale with a reddish hue. Ends up a little thin. Nothing to run from, but I’ll look for other options on my next trip. Foxbush (2028) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - AUG 4, 2012
This was tasted at The Camel in Richmond. August is beer month across Virginia. Local beers were featured at the best bars in town. The head was a tan color and quickly disappeared. The beer poured a deep brown that is attractively clear. Your nose picks up coffee and toffee. There is also a hint of tobacco detected. Active carbonation with no lacing. There is a strange astringent taste at the finish. SpringsLicker (3638) - Tennessee, USA - MAY 30, 2012
Clear light brown with a thin off-white head.
Soft malt aroma.
The flavor is light malt sweetness but it leaves you wanting more.
Thin bodied; weak.
