arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - SEP 26, 2011
Pours brownish with off white head on tap, aroma has nice sweet notes of toffee, nuts, molasses, some burnt toast, with a touch of roast. Taste is nice with notes of toffee, molasses, some dark fruit, nice nut notes with a slightly roasted but mainly sweet finish. Good brew, but needed a bit more.

Ernest (7744) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 9, 2002
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2015 Bottle (Oct 29, 2014 bottling). Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (nuts, toasted grain/bread), lightly hoppy (herbs), with light notes of red grape, honey, and taffy. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Pretty mediocre...slightly unusual aroma (for the style) offers both minor intrigue and minor unpleasantness. Quite bland, thin, and watery in the mouth...more so than a 6% brown ale would suggest.

AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - MAY 26, 2015
[email protected] bb.  Clear mahogany color with ivory head. Nutty, dark bread, dark fruit aromas.  Light bodied.  Mild medium roast, nutty, buttery flavors---could be better

ben4321 (6607) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - NOV 26, 2015
Bottle from Libations. Pours light brown. Smells and tastes fairly sweet and malty. Has kind of a brown sugar / molasses thing going on that makes it pretty sweet. Solid flavor overall. Medium bodied with a solid mouthfeel. Nice beer.

sonnycheeba (6214) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Tap. Pours clear brown with thin, creamy beige head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is caramel and cookie malt, floral hops, dates, apples, and faint cloves. Flavor is sweet malt forward with some supporting hops and light fruit esters; semi-sweet finish. Medium body, low carbonation, and low warmth.

4.5
Cybercat (5959) - Georgia, USA - JUL 4, 2008
Pours a deep, almost opaque, almost sable brown with a fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma is rich and smoky with strong coffee overtone and spicy hints. Malty flavor is well-rounded with a considerable burnt coffee component and hints of chocolate and hops. The sweetness nicely balances the hoppy bitterness. Texture is smooth, rich and pleasing.

3.2
notalush (5895) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - DEC 12, 2009
A fairly dark and robust brown ale, with a lot of chocolate and hazelnut character to it, as well as a fair amount of roasted malt flavor, and some buttery qualities on the back end - moderate bitterness and some leafy character in the finish - a decent brown.
