Tap @ the Brewpub. Poured a clear copper-brown color with an off-white head. Chocolate and caramel aroma. The flavor was toasty with some chocolate. Light bodied. A little thin. Stine (1780) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 30, 2008
Tap at the Falling Rock. Pour of creamy, dark toffee appearance, layering a thick, frothy head up the sides of the glass. Aroma of cream soda, vanilla cavendish, salted taffy, fig, and raspberry. Nutty, sweet and soft. Flavor is a sweet mash of old bananas, cinnamon, caramel, red licorice, vanilla, and toffee. Palate is cool and very soft with an earthy, woody texture and lots of residual sugar; finishes long and dry with raspberry bitterness and some gummy iced tea. Underattenuated throughout, but pretty smooth and easygoing enough to be pleasant. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - JUL 4, 2009

Some roast aroma. Mid brown coloured and smooth on the palate with a dry roast malt finish. notalush (5874) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 12, 2009
A fairly dark and robust brown ale, with a lot of chocolate and hazelnut character to it, as well as a fair amount of roasted malt flavor, and some buttery qualities on the back end - moderate bitterness and some leafy character in the finish - a decent brown.

On tap at the brewery. Pour is clear brown with a slight red tint and a creamy tan head. Nutty and malty aroma, vanilla, graham crackers, grass, light maple syrup, and brown sugar. Taste is somewhat bland, nutty, malty, bready, and grassy with a light bitter finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Ok Brown. drjay44 (3707) - Salida, Colorado, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Draft. Pours a thin off white head, with minimal lacing, over a clear brown (SRM 25) body......nose is light toffee.caramel, light cocoa, chocolate.....taste is cocoa, chocolate, nuttiness, slight toffee/caramel, finishing with a light bitterness......mouth feel light of medium, slightly astringent, carbonation low. This is a mild take on a Northern English Brown Ale. It is, overall, rather simple in its construction with minimal complexity, but it does fall into the style.
