UPDATED: JUN 3, 2011 Chestnut brown, with clear ruby tones. Aroma of light cocoa, sugar cookie, and assertive nutty notes. Texture was a bit bland, a bit too light bodied with not enough carbonation. Not punchy enough. Lots of smooth nutty brown malt on the flavor. There is also some light cocoa tones, but little else. Finish is very fleeting. sonnycheeba (6561) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Tap. Pours clear brown with thin, creamy beige head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is caramel and cookie malt, floral hops, dates, apples, and faint cloves. Flavor is sweet malt forward with some supporting hops and light fruit esters; semi-sweet finish. Medium body, low carbonation, and low warmth. ttoadee (1664) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 25, 2015
Notes from recent Denver trip: at Cibo on Boulder St. medium brown pour, creamy off white head. Nose is dark malt. Bittersweet. Middle is brown sugar, malt and treacle. Finish is sweet, maybe a little too sweet.

Draft. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of nuts. The flavor is pretty much like the aroma with a dry finish. That1Guy (2240) - Colorado, USA - MAR 26, 2009
Crushed with Jakebra at Falling Rock. Average brown. Some substance but not much to it. A very drinkable brown just not that exciting. iowaherkeye (2804) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - JUL 29, 2009
On tap @ Falling Rock. Clear copper brown with a small beige head, fading to a thick film. Buttery toffee up front with some light toasted malts behind. Flavor is a little roastier and has less buttery notes, though still faintly present. Finishes semi-dry, lightly roasty, and nutty. Bitterness was @ a 2. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. OK brown. DiarmaidBHK (6143) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Draft at brewpub. Pours brown with a thin brown head. Slight caramel note on the nose. A bit of malty goodness on the tongue with a hint of nuttiness. Clean finish. Hoping this would be stronger.
