Tap at the brewpub served in a tulip glass September 2012-pours dark brown huge with a small fizzy tan head. nose is crazy insane! funk, char, bourbon, brett, cherries, vineous character. wow that nose is intense! flavors are all over the place plus a blast of alcohol which is very warming. damn this is a big sour, i dont think i have ever had a sour this big. this beer messed me up! it took me over an hour to sip this one till it was gone! Big alcohol heat and sourness on the flavors with tons of intensity. cool brew and glad to have tried it however, its a bit too big for me. dnstone (3681) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Brown with no head. Winey-woody tartness on the aroma. Funky tartness, wine-wood with sweet, roasty malt undertones. onceblind (10862) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 18, 2011
Murky opaque mahogany, with a kakhi head. Smelled like red wine with some green apple esters. Smell also has some boozy barley notes, somewhat like a fruity spicy Belgian. Pleasant sourness on the palate, not overbearing...actually no more "sour" or puckering than most red wines. Taste starts with some green apple, with some smooth and sweet red wine tones quickly following. The finish is reminiscent of a great barleywine--bitter earthy malt with decent sweetness. Great beer! cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 16, 2011
On tap @ B&B. Dark red brown appearance with a tan head. Tart, red fruity, vinous nose. Medium sourness, red fruits, dry, vinous flavor with a dry finish. Some fruity aftertones. Alcohol is hidden well. Good sour that I would recommend trying while it’s around.
