2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
10 oz at the brewpub. I like this concept: very simple ale to showcase a certain hop or malt. Unfortunately, so many other brewers are able to do this better. The aroma is fair, but is muddied with metallic twinges and soured grain. Iíd like to smell and taste this NZ hop more but itís hard to get anything other than token bitterness or citrus. The flavor has hints at damp rags and pennies, proving to be an obstacle at getting the intended flavors across. Just need to clean this up a bit and it has the potential to be pretty enjoyable.

Clear amber under a thin foamy head. Lovely aroma of zesty peppery hops with some pineapple and melon tones. Smooth clean taste with some light lemongrass and melon with a pale cereal grain malt body. Finishes with a touch of tangerine and mild/light bitterness.
