3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Bull and Bush and served in a pint glass. Standard stout color:black. Smells like coffee grounds but eh...Taste is a nice hit of coffee and a decent bit of stout playing backup. I could see having a couple of these in the morning. Overall not bad but I think I’m starting to finally appreciate coffee stouts, I used to detest them which is weird since I’ve always liked coffee.

Tap. Pours opaque black with thin, fizzy tan head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is roasted and caramel malt, milk chocolate, coffee, earthy hops, figs and other dark fruit, and light woody notes. Flavor is sweet malt forward with some supporting fruit esters and hops; dry, semi-sweet finish. Medium body, low carbonation, and medium warmth. Pour on tap at the brewpub, dark brownish black pour with thin off white head, aroma brought big cold pressed coffee and espresso bean, roast, chocolate, some caramel and bitter fruits come through, touch of earth. Taste is very roasty, espresso forward, some slight coffee and chocolate notes, earthy bitter notes come through with a hint of caramel. Pretty nice, though fairly one-dimensional.
